Custom pocket next to steering wheel?

Looking to add a custom pocket/stash spot maybe with a push to open door. Anyone seen anything like that?

would it work here if I relocated the traction switch

 

Trade for someone who owns a 2019-2018. We have that pocket, stock.

There are free 3d files to print a little drawer that goes in that pocket.

 

I have seen those, that’s kind of what I want to do.

 

Find your local thread and figure out where the Tacoma peeps meet. I guarantee that someone will be willing to trade panels - there is always someone looking for more space to put switches.

You could swap the switch location to the overhead console panel.

 

I've seen little drawers on Etsy, need the earlier version pocketed switch panel to use them though.

Very easy to move the switch down, they just pop out once you have the panel removed. There is nothing in the way that would prevent you from moving it.

I went the opposite way and used mine to house a bunch of extra OE-style switches for all the things in a custom panel from MESO.

 

I thought the trac control button got shoved to the driver's side thanks to the introduction of the SOS button. I've noticed that the 3rd gen left dash was always treated as no-mans land from year to year. Toyota: "we have these extra buttons, we dont know what to do with them yet, so stick them over there, I guess."


My stock location was up top. I moved a few other buttons up there so that it wouldn't be lonely.

 

Garage door opener fits nicely in that spot.

 

There's always an ETSY switch cover that can assist with switch relocation...

 

there are at least 10 cup holders collecting dust

 

2017 TRD Sport. The pocket is as empty as the day I got it... except the dust it has collected...

Go on Car-Parts.com and see if any autowreckers near you have one. The panel pops out easy enough.

 

My 17 has the same pocket, haven’t put anything in it yet!
