I’ve got a 2023 year model SR5 V6 automatic and had it OTT tuned when the truck had about 6000 miles on it. No issues at all before. Currently just rolled over 10,000 miles.

After tuning I immediately noticed that when the truck is cold, the transmission will slip usually in the lower gears. It’s like it delays shifting but when it does shift, it’ll jump 2 to 300 RPMs and then shift.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I don’t meet the minimum requirements to post this in the performance and tuning section.

Sounds like if ya think it’s the tune I would contact them and either flash it back to factory or have them reflash the tune. My old ‘16 would do something similar in reverse when it was cold, TSB from the dealer fixed that. Also curious why you would drive it for 4,000 miles and not be in touch with your tuner right away?

I would give your local tuner a ring and see if he can reflash you and recheck. Might just be a small glitch
@JustDSM might even be able to offer some online technical assistance

If you decide to bring it to the dealer, make sure you have it flashed back to stock. You do not want to risk them voiding your warranty.

OTT won't show as any files changed when Toyota plugs in. How it was explained to me at least.

I don't think that is correct.

When I first got OTT (lite/mild) I noticed that things were pretty touchy at the mild setting, ie driving in a parking lot was brutal. I ended up checking the level on my ATF and found I was ~10 oz low. It didn't seem like much but the extra fluid really smoothed things out in the low gears.

I think this is called shift flare.

Mine did it between 4-5 (2nd Gen).

After my tune, my truck did it. It eventually stopped, I did a trans drain and fill (was due anyways). I think that probably helped but I also don't goose it as hard as I was then.

Hopefully they'll get it resolved for you.

Link to thread where I talked about it.

    There
There is Calibration verification number. It changes every time I flash a tune. Not sure if it goes back to original if you flash a stock tune.

Yes technically it is referred to as a shift flare when there is basically a "momentary neutral" and the opposite would be a tied up shift where momentarily two gears are engaged at once causing it to feel like the brakes were slammed for a second.

If happens stock and you don't wanna make a dealer visit i'd start with checking the transmission fluid level. A low level can cause a little cavitation and in turn delay the hydraulic pressure necessary or siphon off too much total system pressure from other engaged clutches to the appropriate clutch (or band) causing it to engage too slowly to make the shift happen in time.
