So, this 2023 Taco TRD OR is giving me 13mpg only on the highway. And I am driving at 70mph or below.

I drive conservatively, but this Taco is supposed to have better mpg than a 4Runner. My 2020 4Runner TRD ORP gives me 17-18mpg with heavier than stock tires.

    Any thoughts ???

Will running the A/C at 68F also have a great impact on mileage? What do you run your A/C at? I am in Arizona and we are currently having three digits right now, but then my 4Runner is still doing better at similar temps.

That doesn’t seem right. On long trips with alot of highway driving, I average between 20-22mpg. I have a 1.5” lift and 265/75/16 tires.

I average 14ish. Running 255/85r16. AT Atlas camper with interior built, front and rear bumper blah blah blah

Would also depend on where you live. Drive up the Rockies all the time will give you far worse mpg than living in flat ass Florida

I get about 19-21 on highway going no faster than 65 or so. I’m far from stock.

So does highway give better mileage?

Definitely does not seem right. At 68mph with the cruise on, I'm getting about 21 on a full highway tank. All stock with a camper shell on the back.

If your truck is brand new, it might need "broken in." The truck will learn your driving patterns to some extent and the mileage should go up. My 2016 and my 2020 both got garbage mileage for the first month or so I owned them.

Lastly, don't trust the on board mileage calculator in the beginning. Do the math when you fill up. Mine's still not super accurate after 3 years.

My dash read out is surprisingly pretty accurate, it’s about .2 MPG optimistic.

Is your truck brand new? If you've already got a few hundred miles on it, you should be seeing much better numbers.

Have a trusted mechanic with a professional scan tool analyze the live data. A seasoned mechanic can tell good data from bad data which should point towards the source of the problem. Just my 2c.

Thank you guys, I will observe it for a week or so from now and will update the thread.

Give it a few hundred and it should settle out. If it doesn't, take it back in to the dealer.

OK what I thought. So basically there's nothing wrong with. The mpgs will improve after around 1000 miles.
