So after my last thread I’ve started looking into mid-long travel and really love the idea of fabricating parts for my Tacoma but I don’t have welding experience and think I might start as a hobby. The only problem is I have no idea where to start let alone what setup to get. All the welders I’ve seen have me a bit confused in terms of what applications they would be best for. At the moment I’m thinking of picking up a Lincoln electric weld-pak 180 from offer up but don’t know if it would be good for fabrication as my end goal. Is there anybody who can help point me in the right direction?

    Welcome to the Forum!

Look at our Anything Welding thread. Lots of us willing to help.

Feel free to ask questions Messages are also fine.

    In person if your close.

My choice would be either the Prime Weld line or the Hobart line of machines.

As a entry level machine! Then your most likely going to want to use hard wire and Shielding Gas.

Means finding a local welding Distributor .

    Good luck !
