Had some clear coat cracking and fading on my passenger front fender. I decided to give a repair/repaint a try today. Removed the flare and sanded the entire fender with 600 grit sandpaper. Masked the hood off and anything else not fender related. I used Autotouchup.com paint with Spraymax 2k Glamour Clear.

Man, it came out better than I ever expected. It still needs to be compounded and buffed but is damn close the way it is. The color is slightly darker than the factory 15 year old paint but it’s close enough to satisfy me!

    Photos below before and after.

And today after cutting and buffing. One spot that I effed up on the corner.

Slightly darker than surrounding panels but not noticeable unless you’re really looking. I’m kind of proud of myself with this as I usually never get good results!

I did the same thing to my 07 blue roof top. Good job, you should be proud.

I ended up resanding and repainting it! I found a place locally who color matched the 15 year old factory paint on the truck and it came out even better! You can see the fender is a little darker in the photos and that was working on me. Repainted it a few days ago and now I’m happy!
