Has anyone had a good experience w/these? I just got a set of their Rockrails for my 21 TRD OR DBSB Tacoma. Planning on installing them tonight with a couple of friends. Then I read some neg reviews on their design & CS. Should I install them or not? Appreciate prompt feedback.

From an engineering standpoint, they wont be as strong as the sliders that wrap around the bottom of the frame. Just bolting to the side will provide side protection but any dynamic forces going upwards will really tax the mounting hardware. Sure, you can pick it up with a hi-lift but if your tire slides off a rock and it impacts the slider, you have 10,000-20,000 lbs of force pushing on the slider...not sure I'd trust a few Grade 8 bolts.

The design looks pretty weak. The frame mounting legs are thin. The frontmost 2ft of slider is basically unsupported:

The frame mounting legs don't begin until aft of the transfer case:

I suppose it's better than not having sliders, that's about it.

Since you already bought them. Are you planning to sell them and get better ones?

Did you get a good deal of something on them?

From a practicing structural engineer, these are pretty bad, though not the worst I have seen.

The unsupported length of the main tube is too long, and the connection design/layout is subpar.

If it were me, even if these had been given to me for free, I would not install them.
