    I have the same problem.

Good morning. First load of topsoil/compost mix is installed. Probably 3 more loads to go. Picking up the second load after a gym workout this morning. I need to get the tree removal damage completed by the end of the day on Friday to take advantage of forecasted rains this weekend.

    Morning 60+ :hattip:
New chiropractor wanted new X-Rays done . He went over them with me yesterday. :facepalm:3 vertebrae in cervical spine are starting to fuse together . Base of lumbar spine practically has no disc left .One hip higher than the other . Multiple bone spurs and multiple discs only a 1/3 the size they should be . No wonder I’m in pain everyday . Never had back surgery.

Do it. My surgery all but cured months of excruciating pain, to the point I could barely function at all.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Off to the hearing aid place for repair - have a dangling cable on one, and makes it hard to deal with. Also need them to pair them back up with the phone app - I can't make them stay paired since I had the "no service" issue with the cell. Which turned out to be a cut fiber, that AT&T would not admit to. Yard can wait until tomorrow.

    Morning all:

Sounds like your back is really messed up Bill, good luck with whatever you decide to do about it.
I have posted this before, my hunting buddy had so much back pain that he had surgery, after the surgery he still has major back pain and wears fentanyl patches to try to make life somewhat bearable, he often says he wishes he would never have got it done, another guy we were talking to while waiting for hunting licenses said the same thing about his back surgery. Another buddy had lower back surgery done and it really helped him with no adverse effects, then another one for the upper back because of pain and his shoulders and arms going numb, the numbness went away, but the pain has since returned.
Then there's Roger's post, and I'm sure many others, where the surgery worked out for the best, sounds like a "I'll be dammed if I do and I'll be dammed if I don't situation", hopefully whatever you decide works out for you, unfortunately there's only one way to find out.

My cousin has had multiple surgeries on his back with little relief. Mine, however, was very successful and alleviated nearly all the pain. I occasionally have sciatica flare-ups, but that just tells me I lifted wrong or over did something. It's a warning to go easier.

    The internal battery gets depleted.

Garmin doesn't realize when you stop and it keeps running. On my Overlander, press the little black on/off when I park. It will auto restart the next time power is turned on, no more funky power supply reboot issues.

Being an old guy, I have my share of issues from cataracts down to foot surgery, and many things in between. I am glad that with this crew we can give good moral support and input on different issues that we have all dealt with over the years. That is what makes this thread so good . We are all in the same boat:D and appreciate the input :fistbump:

Most of us old farts are struggling with joint and back pain. Seems to be a part of aging. I have occasional significant low back pain but so far I deal with it through physical therapy , chiropractic and Celebrex. I don’t use celebrex every day but when I do it really helps. I gave up deer hunting due to my back. I hunt high Sierras 6000 to 8000’ in steep rugged country. My back just couldn’t deal with the rough, rugged steep terrain. And carrying a deer out just became a no go. Most other activities I’m able to do just fine like pheasant hunting, duck hunting and hiking into mountain lakes and streams to fish.

I had back X-rays a few years ago and even though I am trained to read them I took them to a physician friend of mine to get his opinion. After looking at them he turned to me and said quote - oh yeh Ken, your back is all fucked up. I asked him if that was new age doctor talk.
The only thing I’ll say about back surgery is it should be a last resort. It works for a lot of people but it also doesn’t work for a lot. In fact in some cases it makes the pain worse. And here is the problem, if it doesn’t work or it makes the problem /pain worse the surgery cannot be reversed or undone. It’s permanent. So try all options first before you resort to surgery.
There are lots of options to try first including physical therapy, exercises, chiropractic, acupuncture (yes acupuncture works great for many) and there are pain specialist physicians that have dozens and dozens of options to treat pain. My wife saw a pain specialist (a neurologist specializing in pain treatment) for her back pain and she is doing great.
Right now the biggest pain I feel each week is when I fill the vehicles with gas. Gas here is around $6 a gallon.that is painful. Oh well. I’m off to do some honey do’s around here and then to the range to use up some ammo.

Good sound advise Ken. I go tomorrow for my follow up after I had my back injected a week and a half ago. Pain not as bad but still little twinges now and again.

I'm not sure my back ached today from several hours on the incline creeper under wing, or sympathetic pains from reading!
Hope you all feel better soon! I'm slowly moving faster! :p:fistbump:
