I have a 2013 Regular cab 2nd gen, I have done everything to this truck that I have wanted to do, but it seriously lacks power and I am not driving it as much because of that.

Onto my question folks, does anyone know of a shop in or around Houston that is willing to do a 1GR-FE Swap or if anyone has ever done one.

    TIA.

Maybe I’m wrong but what about the URD supercharger instead of a swap?

It has been done before (there's a few threads about it on here if you search) but there's alot more to it than just dropping a 4.0 in, PCM, wiring harnesses, and transmission are just a few of the many things that are different between the 2.7 and 4.0.

Your average automotive shop is likely not going to want to take on such a project, you would likely have to find a shop that does those kinds of swaps.

Big Tire Garage recently did a video on youtube on swapping a 2UZ into a Tacoma. If you can get your hands on a wrecked Tundra for cheap, that's the best way to go in my opinion. Here's his video:

I would think something like that would be too front heavy, but what do I know anyway? Seems bad ass.

Nothing a set of heavier front coils can't handle!

I am just not a fan of boost and was thinking it would cool to have that V6 in there just to be different.

I know it has been done, my main concern is finding a shop to do the swap.
