Here are a couple more from about a month ago- Leavenworth Creek Road off of Guanella Pass out of Georgetown CO Takes you to the Continental Divide (13,238 ft) and to Mt. McClellan.

 

What tires are you running? Wildpeaks?

 

Yes. A/Ts. Good tires, no complaints.

 

Got a little more off camber than I was comfortable with on a narrow shelf road. (Offshoot of Mosquito Pass, CO)

 

Is that the same area where the new(er) GMC Canyon got stuck?

No, that was on a hiking trail. This was a 4x4 trail that felt about as wide as a hiking trail. Haha!

Same general area though, so the terrain is similar.

I miss that truck! It started the fire for me and I have owned three Tacomas since that truck!

lol - not me, just thought it was a hilarious situation.....think it was actually supposed to be a foot trail.

I'm sure he probably didn't think it was so hilarious.

 

Couple of recent trips checking out some new lakes for fishing. Chilly mid day on the rainy trip. Only 5 days apart on these trips, but one day was 22c and the other 4c. The 22c day was higher elevation, but before a cold front arrived.

 

Just got back Sunday. I wish I could have stayed longer. Long ride from NY.

Nice time of the year to be out. You may have mentioned this already but do you run E-Load tires while backroding?

 

Yes, BFG KO2 e rated. My second set now on this Taco. Very reliable, a good all around tire and they have held up well to tons of sidewall scraping on narrow trails. That is important to me since all of my trips are remote and solo. I hate blowouts.

I would not run the KO2 E rated if it was a city truck, but since it is primarily used offroad they work well. Other than they are so hard on our crapola washboard and pothole roads, so I normally go down to 22psi offroad to give my ass some extra cushion. Trails were not too bad on the rainy day so 25psi was tolerable.

 

I have the same tires he does. A beast off road. The truck was my daily driver for a while with those tires. It rides like a truck a street tire pressures and does well in rain. Haven't had them in snow yet but I don't expect any issues with them.
