I haven't seen a single complaint of that on here and lots of people have the Lomax. I've had mine for 4.5 years and its been great. Seems like that's an old issue that has long been solved.

I get that. What I mean is, I don't want the plastic notch cutouts. If there was a way to mount it and NOT do that, I'd pick it up. Literally brand new for $300 from a buddy who didn't want it when he got his truck. Went straight into his garage attic.

That’s my only gripe with the Diamondback cover. You can’t load a motorcycle on the bed of the truck with the cover still on

To be fair, I didn't take that into consideration. I may give them a call and simply ask about it. They may say it can happen but you can get a new seal for $10 bucks and install it in minutes. That was really my only hang up on it. Other than that it's pretty perfect for my needs.

    Good point. Tnx!

Weathertech has a warning on theirs that says not to leave it folded for too long (because it will stress and tear the seals eventually). Did the Lomax have a warning like that?

Per WT's page: "they are made for us by an expert American company, to our specifications, right here in America." So probably Lomax then if it comes out the same way. I haven't looked into it personally. WT's stuff seems to be more suited for colder climates, nothing I've used from them has held up in the desert (their floormats curl up on the ends and their side window deflectors have sun baked in 6 months).

I used to live about 15 minutes from their factory. I'm a little farther away now but that's the climate I have to live with. :) Every decision I make has to take into account the shitty Chicago winters.

The MX4 is our best seller, 2nd up would be the Lomax. Both are great bed covers that our customers love. Message me if you would like a quote or more information on a bed cover.

I know the OP wants a hard cover ,but I’ve had a few over the years and I find that they leak . I ended up buying a truxedo soft cover that Velcro’s on the sides and the rail in the back clips in . I had it for 4 years and the truck is outside a lot . It don’t leak not a drop . Super easy to roll up . And it still looks great . Plus once rolled up you have full access to the bed . I will say for me I love it
    Pus it was super inexpensive

What hard tonneau covers come in silver? I know the diamondback and lomax do. Any others? I would think they would reflex heat and keep your bed cooler than a black cover.

Dude, that's a smoking deal on a very tough and well built cover! Why do the required notches bother you so much? You never see them!

I've been in the car collector environment my entire life. Undamaged OEM is pretty important. When I get my truck I'll be buying duplicate dash pieces to drill into and pack the OEM stuff away in clean condition. Plus, the bed cover will be off at times and those cuts can catch on things.

Very few come in silver other than what you mentioned. Probably the 1st time I actually have had a request for a silver cover. I'll do some digging around and see what I can find.

If this was a Corvette forum, then I would agree with you! But a Toyota pickup truck?

I can't help it. I do it with everything. Shitty bicycles, lunchboxes, old Gillette razors, you name it. I still have the original boxes (and receipts) for most things like that too. If the Tacoma shipped in a box I'd have to figure out how to store it for future resale.

    I'm not proud of it.

I like the Lomax I bought. Got the black urethane color. Very low profile and very nice locking mechanism. With that being said, I cannot speak for longevity as I have only had it for a few months.

The cuts are clean and smooth from the factory and surround the pegs which also hav their own inserts to give it a finished look—they won’t catch on anything. Just buy the factory cut bedside covers and keep your uncut ones, just as you are talking about your dash pieces. You can’t beat the OEM TONNEAU for maintaining your stock, OEM look.

SO when you buy the OEM tonneau the rail covers are separate parts I understand? How hard is it to find the part numbers for install this system aftermarket if not?

I really like my undercover armor flex but I lose the use of my side rails.
