Back in the Saddle

Hey everyone. Had an account here in the past for my 2014, but unfortunately lost email access and got forced to start over from scratch.

Recently bought this 2015 TRD Off-Road DCSB V6 4x4 in Pyrite Mica at the end of July, in missing my 2014 and wanting something “dependable” with a stick and still a little bit of grunt (to replace a hi-po impulsive purchase). The least flashy (“fun”, but prudent & practical) choice as well.

Always loved these 2nd gen trucks since they came out in ‘04, even before I could drive one. It sucks now how the newest examples are almost a decade old with often high mileage, but what can you do? (Well, find the last model year.)

TBH, got a hellion questions to ask, as after owning many vehicles both new and used, I’d like to make this my DIY vehicle for once and stop overpaying for increasing labor costs.

Not sure if my expectations are too high for what I did buy at over 103k upon delivery, but I’ve had some issues already and wondering what’s the deal (with this specific truck).

Could sure use some really great advice (before I even start a build page), but not certain if the new member forum is the best place to ask all of this. I love the truck, but…

Have spent quite a bit fixing stuff and possibly noticing what I had hoped not to otherwise. Long story…

This was my MGM 2014 SR5 V6 (bought new in November 2013), which got totaled by the second owner in 2016, a few months after I sold it off…



Also had a base ‘07 ACLB V6 6MT as my first Taco, for like 5 minutes in early 2013.
