I have a 1997 tacoma that I bought with 98,000 original miles about a year ago. The original owner advised me that the truck had been sitting for almost a year. So I put a brand new battery, NGK spark plugs, wires, engine filter, oil change right away, It ran great and i drove it for 4,000 miles before I began having issues. First the starter went out, after replacing the starter the truck would randomly shut off on me on the freeway and then that progressed to the truck running really rough at low speeds and wanting to shut off on me at lights. I replaced the fuel pump and crank sensor to solve that. The fuel pump sock specifically was super gunky, so I changed that as well. The truck ran for about 25 miles before it randomly shut off on me at a light. This is when my crank, no start issue began. Now when I start the truck, it starts perfectly fine for 10 seconds then dies and then crank no start. If i let the truck sit for an hour and come back it will start for 10 seconds and die. I have verified that the engine is receiving Air, Fuel, and spark. It has to be electrical right?

I had similar......it would start fine cold....

and then at first it would die leaving stoplights...

and then as it got worse ....it would just die going down the road...after 5 min of driving....

each time it would pop my am2 fuse......

If I let the truck cool down for 30min and replace that fuse.....I was good for maybe another 5 miles....

Problem was ignition switch behind the ignition cylinder...

those should be replaced every 100K after the first oem one....
those tiny little contact springs in there are kinda weak.....
