My buddy just bought a 2012 4Runner (which is damn nice) and it has the luxury of a power front seat. This is one amenity I really miss in my Tacoma. Anyone have any ideas about whether that power seat base (or entire seat) would be transferrable into the Tacoma without major pain and suffering?

Wiring for the power seat alone should not be a nighmare, just power and ground supply to the seat, but don't forget about side airbags, and I would assume the 4runner seats are heated as well? As far as the fit goes, you are the perfect guy to find out. You have a tacoma, and a buddy with a 'runner, park them side by side, and in 20 minutes you'll know if it bolts up. If it fits, I would say the challenge would be finding the seat(s) for less than the price of a 4runner.
Though I must say, power seats is a concept I never really got. Heat, oh yeah!

good thinking. take out 4 bolts(assuming), unplug the harness, and check to see if the frame rails bolt in the same location.

I haven't. But I'm going to see my buddy next week; I'll try to get measurements then.

Rebooting this….has anyone tried to install a power seat in their Tacoma? I put a Lexus power seat in my FJ a few years back and it was awesome, had to fabricate the mounts but it worked.
