I realize this topic has been brought up plenty of times already, but I couldn't seem to find opinions on my exact question, so I'll get right to the point.

My current setup is a 2017 SR5 with a Rough Country 3.5" lift with the included RC UCA's, and 265/75R16 tires on stock 16" charcoal alloy rims.

I have the itch to go to 285's but lack the budget for both offsets and tires (just getting tires)

The tire fitment page at the bottom of Rough Country's section where my lift is located says you can apparently fit 285/75R16's on a factory wheel with a 0.25" spacer WITHOUT any trimming or rubbing. I realize spacers are sketchy to some, but I can't seem to see much of an issue with them where they wouldn't be the kind with extended lugs and they would be hub-centric. I've also read from plenty of people saying you should have at least a -10 offset if you plan to do this. My question is, has anyone attempted this setup from Rough Country's fitment table and how did it pan out for you?

Lastly, the tires I'm looking at are LT285/75R16 Yokohama Geolander AT G015's. I also do not do a lot of off-roading, mostly in town and highway driving and I live in Northern Maine where winters are typically harsh.

Don’t believe you’ll find a bolt on hub centric 1/4”spacer. A high quality bolt on hub centric spacer will be fine ie: spidertrax, bora.

You definitely don’t want to use that type of spacer. That is not a bolt on spacer. You’ll more than likely need longer wheel studs with those.
Also will more than likely have vibration issue with those. Lastly those are just plain crap. I believe BORA makes a 3/4” bolt on hub centric spacer. Bolt on hub centric spacer only or no spacer at all.
