    Me at the tire shop.

Sales person: Would you like to purchase road hazard for your new tires?
Me: I don't know? how much is it?
    Sales person: $24.95
    Me: Sure why not.
Sales person: O.K. sir that will be $104.51
Me: Wait didn't you say it was $24.95????
Sales person: Yes sir! That's $24.95 ea. for 4 tires.
Me: Why the hell would I want to purchase RH for 4 tires? (What's the chances that all 4 tires will get damaged?)
Sales person: Well what were you thinking??
Me: I want RH for only one tire.
Sales person: Which tire did you want RH for???
Me: The one that gets the damage!
Sales person: Well you would need to specify which tire.
Me: O.K. Make it the right rear! Because no matter which tire gets damaged, when I bring the truck in it will be the "Right Rear"!
Sales person: sir you can't do that.
    Me: Why??
Sales person: well we will record the serial number of the tire and that will be the tire with the coverage!
Me: Good Luck! Because tires don't come with individual serial numbers!
Sales person: Well then we can't sell you the RH insurance.
Me: Then why the hell did you quote me a price of $24.95?!

I think the sales person needed the day off after that one. LMAO!

    Is that true?

Tires don't come with individual serial numbers?

I honestly don't know and never really thought about it until now.

I think next time I buy tires, I'll buy the RH for one tire and just not say anything about moving tires around.:thumbsup:

Not 100% sure but imagine the headache if you needed to change the serial on the molds for every tire?
I know they come with lot numbers and the born on date of when the tire was made. But those are batch numbers.

I did the same thing to my insurance company!

My receipts have had individual serial numbers on them, but I've never compared it to the tire. I do pay up for my wife's car because some demon litters the roads she drives on with nasty hazards.

You do bring up a key observation: that the RH is not really $25, but $100. If I lose one of every 8 tires then I break even (rounding to $200/tire); more often I come out ahead.
And then the big gotcha: if you have an AWD and the treadwear is enough that you have to replace all 4 tires, most RH warranties only cover the damaged tire.

It works because people are not very good at assessing actual risk, and if they do have a loss they hate it. So I think it gives many peace of mind.

I'm sure a lot of us have had similar conversations with the extended warranty people. It all depends on a person's risk tolerance whether it's something to spend money on or not.

    Brand new.
That looks really nice , was it easy to apply the film to the light?
I have a black truck, i Think Id prefer the yellow over the black tint myself. no need to smoke it out and interfer with the turn signal

Yep! The crappy part of RH insurance is that they prorate the coverage. So you end up paying out of pocket any way you go.
Goodyear patched my jeep tire for FREE because they mounted and balanced them. (Even though I purchased the tires elsewhere.)

Very simple to install. I just added an add a fuse to the 12v outlet fuse block, (the one in the truck under the dash.)

I love mine as well! Sold the Snugtop for one and I’m so glad I did. As for the rear window access, I rarely used mine so no big deal for me. And I find it doesn’t really get that dirty. But my windows are tinted so maybe I don’t notice :)

Swapped in the just received MESO Steering Wheel Fix and the AJT black trim pieces I’ve had sitting around for months.

Once again I fell victim to the questionable influence of this place, and swapped the mirror signals for the smoked sequential version.

    20230922_142450-1.jpg

Added a piece of flair to the bed cap.

    20230922_143317-1.jpg

And put some of sphinxbccp's tag light covers on a few days ago. I was sort of skeptical that they would make much of a difference, but they really do improve the view from the backup camera at night. I didn't realize how obnoxious that glare was until it was gone.

How was the install? Pretty straight-forward? Any soldering or is it plug and play? Thank you!
