Hey everyone, I had a question. I’m looking at purchasing a 2016 Tacoma limited right now with 154k km on it. The thing is it’s long box and as far as I can tell they were only ever made as short box? The guy says it was a custom order? Is that a thing?

    Wow, 145k on a 2016?

Damn, what is that like 20,000+ miles a year?

That's a hell of a lot of miles per year. Not sure on the limited version, but after owning a LB I'd never ever go to a 5' bed

It’s in km it would have like 90k miles. You like the LB more cause of the space?

If it's really KM, then its only 95k miles.

Here's a link to another LB '16. Not sure how common they were but it seems they existed. https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/3TMDZ5BN0GM012265

They weren't common but it was a possible configuration. It was one of the options I looked at when I bought mine.

The 2016 Limited was only available with a short bed. Check out page 14 of this PDF. I do know Toyota offered some configurations in Canada that were not available in the US, so anything is possible. Also see if the Limited has factory leather trim seats. Leather in 2016 was only available on the Limited. If the wheels are stock, the Limited was the only trim to have 18 inch wheels. Hope this helps you investigate if the truck is truly a Limited.

Ya, it’s got all of the upgraded leather brown interior trim and the upgraded audio system. I also read on some ancient thread from here while I was looking a little but ago that supposedly it was a rare Canadian only trim option ‍so I guess that’s pretty cool

So you're saying you put 35km on your truck a year, or 35 thousand miles a year?

lol - my 2020 just had the 20,000 mile service done about 500 miles early.

She had about 7,800 miles on her when I had her shipping up sight unseen from TX last year.

Can the original factory configuration be checked by VIN number for Canadian trucks?

My numbers are a tad inflated thanks to 3 trips to WY, CO, UT area along with a 90 mile commute and a few other trips.

Absolutely love my long bed. As long as it fits in your parking spot. I’d have taken a short bed but I’d much rather have the long bed. Good luck!
