    Hey now.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth so i go for the glazed cake style ones.

Tried knead donuts yet? We don't deal with the PV donuts shenanigans. No lines, less style but more substance.

I am my size due to the good stuff, not the sweets :) Not a bit brisket guy though. I go get it once or twice a year, can't get out doing your own for less than 10 lbs usually. That's just too much. Pork butts freeze well at least.

Might be getting a new smoker toy. Found out theres a pit boss tabletop pellet pooper for like 150 bucks at Wally world on clearance. Might swing by tomorrow and see if there are any in Seekonk. :) Fits a butt, that's all I need.

We used to have a place called The Donut Man here. It was four total shops, three in Western MA and one on Myrtle Beach. The donuts were fantastic. Unfortunately, the owners closed the ones up here when they decided to live in SC year round. Looking at reviews for that one, it looks like they sold it and the quality took a dive under the new owners.

Colonial donuts were the best donuts hands down. They closed for a stint during covid. Re-opened and then the owner wanted to retire and nobody in the family wanted to take over so away it went. It was an absolute staple in Taunton.

When i say donuts, I'm not talking the garbage from Dunkin. There are a lot of great donut shops around that make some phenomenal donuts. I'll walk past a box of Dunk's donuts all day.

Got blindsided with Type2 two years ago...out of nowhere.
Normal blood sugar ,then a spike that almost put me in a coma.
Dropped almost 40 pounds, changed diet and my A1C is a steady 5.3-5.4.

That said, my donut days are pretty much done.
But an occasional donut won't kill me, right?
Total deprivations aren't in the cards.

I haven't tried any speciality donut places. So far, the only donut I look forward to this time of year is Honey Dew's apple cider donut.

    Truth.
But it made me reassess things going forward. Wasn't a hard choice to make.

The best way to cure any desire for dunkins donuts is to work next to one of their bakeries.

I am 50 feet away and NEVER smell them. How can you bake donuts on a mass scale and not be able to smell them that close? They give me the heebies now.

Dennis - i love that you had to take the truck and didn't take the car :)

    Wouldn't matter.
Not into stuff like that; donuts, muffins, cake/cupcakes, cookies, etc...
Pastries, sweets, baked desert stuff, etc...
    Not for me.

Oh man, I could cure most people's desire for a lot of sh*t food if I was willing to... go there.....

Yeah i feel you. The amount of training that goes into safe handling of foods (raw meats and fish) is, broadly, none.

I shared this in the foodies thread but makes sense here too now that we're talking food. :) If anyone is no bueno on sesame, watch out for foods you knew didn't have it before.

In other news i got a new toy. Tabletop pellet smoker :) in theory it could work at a campground with an electrical hookup. But I'm not going to bring it to aoaa this year for obvious pork based reasons.
