Just bought a ‘11 1gr-fe out of a crashed truck to replace my ‘08 with a blown head gasket (hmu if you want to buy it to rebuild btw, located in CO).

Wondering if there are any major differences between the ‘11 ecm (top) and ‘08 ecm (bottom) as I want to reuse my ‘08 harness (new one’s for an auto trans).

The pinning and plug shapes are different on the new one because it was for an auto. Basically wondering if my ‘08 ecm will run the ‘11 motor… Thanks!

The engines should be identical, harnesses and PCM will be different so as long as you use the wiring and PCM original to your truck you should be fine.

Just a side note you may want to check the knock sensor harnesses under the intake before you put the engine in just in case critters were under there, it's alot easier to deal with while the engine is out.

Thanks. Finished swapping the harnesses and ecms. Knock sensors were one of the first things I checked after getting the motor. Like the clutch release bearing they can be a problem child on the 1gr.
