Hey guys I had troubles with the truck starting…… long story short fuel pump related issue. So I bought a new fuel pump assembly and the newer assembly has a new vent I was hoping someone could tell me what it does or if I have bought the wrong assembly……. Thank you for the time (see the assembly down below)

If that's not sealed and you have nothing to connect to it I would return it

That is an O’ Reilly Auto parts pump… there are a couple of things you could do, look at the underhood sticker to see if your truck is CA spec emissions. If she is a 49 state truck then the hanger is wrong. Go to the Toyota dealer with the VIN and see what they say, they just might say the same thing, CA spec vs 49 state or even Canada. If it is wrong O’ Reilly should not complain about returning it.

NEVER go cheap on fuel pumps or any other part that is a total PITA to replace. OEM on fuel pumps [even, GASP GM Delco pumps] only. Denso makes good stuff.

That looks like a 2001 and later fuel pump, it shows that hose barb, the earlier ones don't have it.

Hey thanks everyone, so what I ended up doing was returning the new assembly and just replacing the fuel pump a filter screen on the old assembly!! Works great
