Is there a lift on my truck?

Here goes my first post, go easy on me…
I just purchased a 2014 Tacoma TRD Off-Road and even though the wheels/tires look awesome, I don’t care much for the ride quality on the street which is more important to me than looks.
My first question is, how can I tell if this thing has a lift? Or does it just have oversized tires? It’s running with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/17’s (overkill for me). Is this even possible without a lift? (They aren’t rubbing).
I’d like to downsize the tires, but if it has a lift and I go back to stock size, I’m afraid it will look silly and still not have better ride quality.
This is more of a daily driver than an off-road vehicle for me. Although now that I have it, I will be exploring some dirt roads in the mountains here and there.
What would you look at first?

That is lifted, to answer your question.

We could probably tell you how it was lifted if you include pictures of the suspension.

@HaulinAuss you have a Nitto Ridge Grappler with a heavy ply rating. I bet if you went to a Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 in a 285/70R17 117T your ride would be much better and you are not going to a tire that will look smaller on the truck.

Take pictures behind the tires. In the rear get the leaf springs, and where the leaf springs meet the axle. A picture of the shock, too. In the front, a picture showing the front coilover and upper control arm.

I mean, obviously it's lifted, this is just to find out what type of lift.

Getting a lower load rating tire will feel much better on road. Moving from a E load to a C load or even passenger load tire will provide the most compliant ride. Heady duty LT tires make you feel the "cracks" in the road.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
measure from the center of your hubs up to the fender, front and back, stock is approx 20 inches front and 22 inches in the back.
If you have a lift and go back to 265 70 17 it might look off, Check your tire pressure, I run around 35 front and 32 in the back. I'd run the tires until they need replacing and then see how you feel about downsizing. Nittos are expensive to buy. What load range are they?

Great suggestion! I think I may have found the answer, but I’ll let the pro’s tell me if I’m right or wrong :D
    My guess is spacers…

This is what I’m thinking as well. The day I got it, I was doing 40mph on a basic road, went over a manhole cover/dip and the truck wanted to send me into the other lane. It caught me off guard. Now I’m much more aware. Thank you for the suggestion!! I really appreciate it.

Pretty standard dealer leveling kit, about 2 1/2-3" front, 1" rear.

The shocks are worn out you can see, so I'd suggest replacing them and removing the top spacer.

The rear spacer is generally accepted as ok, but front spacers put strain on the joints and really aren't great long term.

Read into Bilstien 5100 lifts on here, it will do two birds, new shocks that you need, and give you a lift with less negatives.

I noticed you were quoting posts, then posting another post to answer it. Just thought I'd say once you hit quote and it shows up, you can simply type below it, add pictures, etc, and it'll show up. Just start anywhere after the thing the Red Arrow is pointing at. You can see what I had started typing as a response in the green box.

Katzkin, Dobinsons full suspension. Redlinegoods console cover and door panel arm rests, Double USB charger in dash installed, Ballistic Jesters 16x8. BlackVue DR 590 Dash Cam
Need better pictures of rear leafs but those look like their might be in the shape of a W like mine were. Also get some better pics. of front and rear so we can see the whole suspension to give you better suggestions.
