New Rear Bilsteins BS-4600 (24-265973) installed. I now have a 2 1/2” (2.5”) lean on driver’s side. Truck is stockish, and only had the 1/2” typical “Taco Lean” before.

Searched forums, nothing for solving this.

Don’t understand why it’s so pronounced now. Sitting on a level flat concrete pad, haven’t driven it since putting shocks on today. No lean in front.

    HELP!!

Shocks only control travel/movement, they don’t raise the suspension, so they’re not the culprit.

The only thing you changed was the rear shocks and it now has a heavy lean?
Pull the shock off. If it returns to normal, the shock is either seized or the wrong length. If not, time to start looking for what broke.

You need to drive the truck to get it to settle into it's neutral position. Did you at least take it out of gear and release the brake when you were done. Suspensions can bind and not relax if the wheels can't roll after being jacked up.

Bilstein monotube shocks have a lot of gas pressure and can hold it up a little after being jacked up. The shaft seals are new and tight also. Your leaf springs also have a lot of friction.

I guessing you jacked one side up at a time to install the shocks and the last side you jacked up is the one that is high now.

I had a similar experience. Not quite as much as yours, but a couple of weeks after I bought ours I noticed a pretty bad lean, about 1.5" - driver side being lower than the passenger side. It ended up working out okay, but I'm not sure why other than it seemed to be close to normal after a four-wheel alignment at the dealer.

Your post reminded me about it so I just went out and measured to see how it's doing. The rear driver's side is about 1/4 inch lower than the passenger side. I just filled up with gas so that seems to have a minor effect on it.

Per @gdr you may just need to drive it for a while for everything to settle in.

Here's the first post about what I was seeing initially with measurements and photos. If you go through the thread my last post shows it being close to even:

    Hope that helps!

Gas shocks depending on their nitrogen psi will have a small effect on raising the trucks suspension, especially on the lightest end of the truck.

Damn I thought the title meant that the driver was heavy and causing excessive lean. Doh.

I’ve had issues with doing brake work on one side at a time before. Try jacking up the rear using the diff and letting both sides droop and then lower and recheck after driving.
