Should I just transfer my oem tpms to the new wheels? Or buy new tpms? It’s an additional $179.

I’d reuse the oem ones.I have SCS wheels and the oem worked great

Is it true aftermarket ones may not sync correctly? Im buying wheel/tire combo so everything is mounted already. If I choose to transfer the old ones, the shop will need to disassemble which will cost more so it kinds evens out I suppose.

i just did this and order a package from Custom Offsets that included TPMS sensors in my package. so mounted, balance, and tpms sensors installed. took off OEM and put on my new wheels and tires. hit the TPMS reset button under steering column and drove for about 25 miles. all four tires were shown as --- and then received a message on the head unit saying that the reset had failed. so its likely i will have to take to a shop and have them do it. my toyota dealership quote me $188 for this. However they mentioned i would need the codes on the TPMS sensor but i have no way of getting that. so not sure how i can do that. now my dashboard indicates low TP and the indicator light is always on.

If your sensors are still fairly new, reuse them on your new wheels as long as they fit. Sensors aren't cheap so get your moneys worth from the stock ones.

Good to know, i'm also ordering from them. Might just skip the TPMS and do the transfer.

I am planning to swap out the wheels/tires from my 2023 SR5. Would it better to leave the stock wheels complete for better resale value, or separate the wheels and tires to salvage the stock TPMS sensors?

@PowerKord swap your factory sensors and save some money. No need to replace what's not broken.
