Went wheeling and added some really deep scratches.
I am at the beach in Corolla NC and went exploring down some trails off the beach.
I didn't realize that the tree branches were as stiff as they were - my bad for sure.
I don't mind a few trail scrapes here and there but these are pretty bad.
Any advice on how to repair deep scratches?

If they are just in the clear coat then they should buff out.

If you run your fingernail across them, can you feel them (does your fingernail catch)? If no, they'll likely buff out. If yes, then buffing may help hide them, but ultimately, they're permanent.

What? because folks don't know what a deep scratch looks like? like a pic will show how deep they are?
    So is your post worthless?

Everything is relative my friend. What is deep to some of us is easily buffed out to others.

Some people's deep scratches are a line of dust they are afraid to wipe off. Some people's deep scratches are cut halfway through the sheet metal. It makes a difference. Some people have no idea what they are even talking about. Recently someone made a post (sorry if you read this dude) saying their Diff Lock light was doing something wonky. It was their 4WD light and it took multiple posts for people to figure out his original thread title was completely wrong.

So yes, just post a picture and save everyone a ton of time, lol.

Are you offended by the request for a pic or a bit challenged in the post-a-pic area?

Anyone use Dr. ColorChip for scratches or paint chips? Thoughts on its' effectiveness and quality.

Sorry if I took it the wrong way - I'm all for joking around - it just sounded like a lot of the typical a-holes (see post #9 -Exhibit A) that populate this forum. Yeah - I took it seriously and thought WHAT! pics of a scratch . . . like WTF.
But hey, my bad for not taking it as intended - it's all good.

I asked you to post pics so that I as well others on this forum could give you a helping hand, I genuinely meant well, and you reply with a condescending, and immature post projecting your sensitivity and inability to read through the lines of my first post.
And as to your “typical a-holes (see post #9 -Exhibit A),” you’re the only a-hole on this thread kid, piss off, and good luck with your deep scratches:wave:

You asked for help, did you not? To help you we asked for pics of the scratches. And then you went off the deep end. In other words when you ask for help we are willing to help but might need more info. So now fix your own scratches. Hope it works out for you.

If someone asks "is this truck totaled? and posts no pictures, they can expect a similar set of responses. No repair shop will estimate based on verbal descriptions (well ... "my tire is missing" generally tells the tire shop it can estimate at least the cost of the new wheel/tire).

This is a Friday thread, but worse.

I consider a deep scratch to be down to the primer or even the metal.

Trail pinstripes from trees and shrubs shouldn’t cause deep scratches.

Interesting - Why not just ask for pics in the first place without the insults?
Second a deep scratch is a deep scratch.
Third a pic is not going to reveal how deep a scratch is
Last - I have gotten advice several other paces without the "without pics your post is worthless"

I'll show myself out - no need to continue this thread.
