    Hello!

This is my first time posting on Tacomaworld and I am desperate for any help or ideas on what could be wrong with my 2013 Taco. As the title states I truly need a Hero

For some background info I have a 2013 Tacoma 4.0 with a TRD supercharger with 124K miles. Today seemingly out of the Blue my tacoma decided to die. Was in stop and go traffic and the truck completely died and the engine shut off but electrical was still up. It initially hit me with a check engine light, A/T Temp light, batter and oil light. After putting it in park and turning it back on all the lights cleared and the truck drove fine for a minute or two and died again.

After looking at it with some friends and family who are more mechanically inclined we have noticed the following: 1) No codes except for P1604 seem to come up when checking for codes and lights will clear off dash when you turn truck back on 2) The truck has no loss of power or RPMs when it decides to drive but yet will flat out die regardless if you’re on the gas or in idle. 3) it seems to die more frequently when the car is running at temp but isnt over heating. we have ruled out thus far the MAF, battery and alternator, Bad fuel and fuel pressure, Fuel pump, coil pack/ignition since we tested and checked those by hand. We are currently thinking it is either. Crank Censor failure/Cam sensor failure (even though no codes are coming back) OR a short of some sorts.

We are kinda dumb founded by the whole no codes things however and are currently scratching our heads in confusion. If any one has had a similar experience or has any ideas I would truly appreciate the help! Please feel free to ask for more info and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities!

Not a mechanic of any sorts, but I had a fuel pump resistor tank out on me. It’s in front of the battery. You can short it out and it’ll get you going again, but do replace it. Good luck. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure how dirty the words "Mitsubishi Montero" are on a Taco forum, but I had a similar issue with an 02' Montero a few months ago. The thing was driving fine all the way to the end of a freeway exit ramp, then stalled when it came to a full stop. Ran a little rough after the stall, the gas pedal would drop/hesitate before acceleration, and would it only stall again when coming to a full stop.
Turned out it was the crank/cam sensor, and an O2 sensor went bad sitting on the mechanic's lot.
Based on what you've shared, I'd start with looking for a wiring issue.

    None... yet.
I had an "intermittent dying" issue a while back. Truck would die at random but start right back up. Had a shop and a dealership look at it and, other than some transmission codes that didn't make any sense, nothing came up on any scanner.

I inadvertently found the issue one morning, shortly after getting it back. Went to start it and got zero power from the battery. I began loosening the terminal clamps and a chunk of the negative clamp fell off the post as I was loosening it. Turns out it had a hairline crack all the way through and was just "jiggly" enough that it was causing the truck to cut out. Replaced with a new clamp and no problem since!
