I'm about to put the fenders, hood, grille, bumper and headlights on my 06 Taco after my wreck. Here is how she sits now.

I'm planning on taking pictures so I can hopefully do a write up thread and show my process of adjusting the gaps. I'd love any feed back and advice you guys might want to share.

The best I can figure is

Step 1. I'll start with the hood hinges and hood latch.

Step 2. Next put the fenders on with just the bolts in the corners finger tight.

Step 3. Next put the hood on with the bolts finger tight and see how things all line up.

If the hood sits too low do I....go back to step 1 and put washers under the base of the hinge to bring the height of the Hood up....or.... would you place the washers between the actual hood and hinge to bring the height up. (I also seen a video where a guy uses a piece of a 2x4 and the weight of the hood to bend the hinge slightly for a better gap) What do you guys think?

Tighten these pieces up THEN...move on to putting together the bumper cover support frame, Bumper cover, Headlights and grille....

The diagram I used to order parts and hardware isn't great at explaining how these fit together. I'm hopeful I'll be able to figure it out at the time and be able to show anyone else who has to do it with some pictures. Any advice on these parts would be great.

You might try to install the hood first. Then install the fenders. I'm sure you will have to go back and forth some between the two, but I've done it this way on cars and it worked for me.
Edit- thinking about it again, the cars had a cowl to align the hood to, which is why I started with the hood!

Thanks, Yeah that was the way to go. I got the hood on first. I did have to remove the drivers side fender and add a couple washers under the hood hinge. I'm still getting my photo's together to post how some of these odd clips attach. I should post them here later tonight.

I bought a used hood as a temporary fix. I had the city send me a letter a telling me that they'll fine me $25 a day till I remove the junked vehicle off the property....So it goes....I'm still waiting for my sport hood. I already have the scoop and insert. Toyota is just back ordered on the hoods. X-mas is my tentative date.

Here are the gaps I ended up with. The rear passenger corner ended up a bit high. Driver side I placed washers under the hood hinge. The both headlight corners on the hood needed to be bent up a little. I didn't do the best job on bending the corners. Hopefully the new scooped hood won't be so bad and don't have to bend the corners up.

I'll be tackling the fender flares and then my broken cam tab soon and I'll be on the road again!
