I think down the road the 2023 models especially later build months will be worth some money if kept in really mint condition

Life’s short, but what makes you happy and enjoy it. Could die of a heart attack or car accident tomorrow. Money isn’t coming with you, the government or family will take your money and spend it on what they want so why not spend it why it’s yours.

Gary sounds like the guy that pulls up in a cool car and tosses you the keys so you can take it for a spin. Or brings a keg instead of a sixer. Or wears a ridiculous shirt to the party. I could be wrong. See ya at my place on Friday, Gary!

Should have made this a poll, but the responses are basically 50/50 as I expected. The main comment that sticks out is I have a rare taste for Access cabs so I should keep mine and order a new one in a very rare config.

    I wouldn't do it unless I was considering a Gen.4. Otherwise, what's the point?

Thank you for being the only person to call me out on that. I fully respect and reject your opinion. No one has offered a dissertation on why I am wrong yet.

I have an ‘18 OR and have upgraded pretty much everything I’ve wanted to. LED headlights, sequential mirror turn signals, new side mirrors with adjustable blind spot portion, new infotainment system with CarPlay, and now a complete suspension replacement. Plus many other mods.

It would probably cost close to what I’ve put in, just to trade for a new ‘23 factory OR. Only my truck is way better. Plus I don’t have to deal with greasy salesman trying to make money off of me. I’ll keep my truck.

If it's running well, I'd keep the '16 for ten years and then pick up a '27 Taco. I know, you don't like four bangers, it's just another engine.... or go with the Tundra and have your six pot.

Either way, enjoy and good luck!

If you want the wrap or custom paintjob, put together some plan for it, for yourself. And, it will keep you honest with yourself if you go to the dealer / car buying service.

TRD: Lift, Exhaust, Air Intake, Skid Plate & "Beadlock" wheels. Batman sticker. 255/85R16 Toyo MTs. Debadged. H9s.
Traded in my 2018 for a same-spec 2022 and before I added the various TRD bits, the delta was only 2500 Canadian. For that, I got a brand new vehicle that has the better sound system, thicker glass, no bush rash, a clean, smooth windshield with no goofy Go-Pro mount, and a 3 year/60,000 km warranty.

The dealer made their profit on the accessories and I was in a newer, nicer truck for not a ton of cash.

    Just do it.
