After being schooled and hopefully brought up to speed, I wanted to simplify and refocus my light upgrade questions.

Bearing in mind this is for my tow vehicle and family misc. use, 2008 Tacoma XRunner. Before being "schooled" I replaced non o.e. blacked l.e.d. fitted headlights with generic o.e. style ebay units.

    Stated goal:
    * within a reasonable budget, maximize streetable lighting,

    So far my direction is
    * osram 100/80w or Sylvania gt200+ with relay harness

I remember a past thread concerning the DRL lights and using a relay harness. Is there any conflict adding a relay harness?

Still working on a plan for the factory fog lights. I want the color temp appropriate for fog.

Input and experianced lighting outcome welcome

Osram 100/90w with an HD relayed harness is the highest output available. For stock wattage bulbs Philips Racing Vision GT200 is the best, not Sylvania.

DRL with the harness is a non-issue on 2nd Gen. That is a 1st Gen problem that use the headlights as an always on DRL instead of the turn indicator like 2nd Gen.

The early 2nd Gens have poor fogs with 9145 bulbs. Best option is to scrap it entirely and opt for a quality aftermarket SAE fog assembly. Lots of great options. Fogs should only be run in poor weather and for best poor weather performance selective yellow is the correct color. I'd recommend the Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport or Max in selective yellow. If snow is a concern the Max is one of the few that run hot enough to melt snow.
