Update on MT64TACH kit. ARB replied

    "MT64TACH includes:

    2x MT64901007 (rear shock)
    MT64601014L (front left strut)
    MT64601014R (front right strut)
    4004 (front coil)
    2x EL112R (rear leaf)
    FK29 (rear driveshaft spacer)
    2x OMETH002 (top hat)
    2x OMESB108 (leaf spring bushings)
    4x OMEU53B (ubolts)

These are brand new and shocks are not available at this time. I would estimate a good 3-4 months out minimum on a new order right now"

This setup on all four corners is a slam dunk for what I'd use them for. Especially after destroying the OEM/Fox shocks and Kings eroding in the Midwest after a winter.

Anyone know the extended and collapsed lengths on these? Can't find anything about it online.

same as bp51s id assume which are standard travel not "extended travel". in the videos ive seen on them ome said the body is based off a bp51 but theres no internal tube for the smaller piston and bypass setup. you just get a larger diameter piston instead

Can the different heights be adjusted while the shock is on the truck?

not really. uses a snap ring in shock body grooves under the lower coil mount. same setup as bilstein 5100.

those specs would make them 8" travel front shocks. which theres no way. actual extended travel coilovers are under 5" travel

The front suspension ratio of shock travel to wheel travel is about 1.85 (I measured, referenced experiment by Tinkerer's Adventures channel on Youtube). The max travel of a Toyota IFS is about 9". BP51's shock travel in front is 106mm (4.173") and at the wheel about 7.73".

The numbers supplied by ARB would imply a wheel travel of (23.6-15.4)*(1.85)=15+".....not possible even with long travel suspensions. So something is just not right with the front shock numbers.

The rear make sense and are about the 1" less than BP51 (which has 9.25" travel at the rear).

Emailed ARB again to clarify and they replied:

“Hello. per the specs we have been provided, that is correct.

    Thanks!”

I wonder if the larger inner diameter allows for more travel. Alternatively, their specs might be based on an uncharged shock without a coil.

there isnt even 8" of shaft on the front struts. i think the extended length may be right. but the compressed length is off.

Anyone get their hands on these yet?
Thinking this is the best bang for your buck option out there. Aluminum shock body will be very nice compared to the steel Bilsteins I’m running now.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Been a bit since anyone posted in here, is anyone running them yet? I am 90 percent sure I'll be grabbing a set of these for the rear this summer to replace my 5160s that can't keep up with my driving style. On paper they outclass the 5160s in every way but I would love to hear a real world review of them on a Tacoma. If no one buys any I guess I'll have to drop the first review in here lol.
