Friend of mines son decided to park his golf cart on its side, back seat was a tad bent.

So, back when we were moving we ate out a lot because our dishes were packed up. One evening we moved a load and it was super hot and we were tired. I ask my wife if she wanted to try somewhere we haven't been that is close to the new house. She said yeah, we walked in................it was the nastiest place I've ever set foot in. I've been in hunting cabins that were cleaner.

We sat down, food was delicious, prices were cheap. All four of us ate for less than $25

I said wonder what the sanitation rating is here? We found it, it was 92

I said that's 20 more than I thought it would be.

Fast forward to Saturday morning, I had loaded a load of equipment on the gooseneck Friday night and Cole and I left at 6 to make the 1st load for the day, we stopped in that restaurant.

He had his back to one wall and I was facing it, I saw a roach climb the wall and go behind a picture. I kept my mouth shut.

I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with sweet tea, he got eggs, biscuit, and bacon with sweet tea.

I laid $5 on the table when we got done and went to pay, the total bill was $9.18, the food was great again, but that roach :puke:

They open at 3:00 in the morning, when I go by at 6:15 the parking lot is always full, my wife says it's all the older people who live around who have lost a spouse and can't see good.

    We haven't been back.

Last night, the couple we met at church said they had to go get their daughter from work, I said where is she working? They said _______

Then they said we'll have to meet them there one night for supper......my wife and I didn't say a word :anonymous:

If I didnt have a kid you'd never find me at a place like Disney. It's my worst nightmare actually. Crowds, people breathing on me, it's awful.

Years ago a few towns over there was a tiny hole in the wall run by 2 young Italian fellows straight from Italy. These guys were passionate about their cooking, not so much cleaning...

It was almost like something from a B movie - the fellows bantered loudly in their home language constantly, the place was chronically filthy, the sole waitress/cashier/busser chewed her gum loudly -- and the food was absolutely fabulous.
    -- and dirt cheap. :rimshot:

    Work rant.

I was asked to see what I could come up with for adding some office to one of our buildings. This was my design from last November. The space outlined in red were the proposed changes.

    20230927_131126.jpg

Because of the cost of the project, by law we have to get an architect on board. This was the plan I received yesterday to get our floor plan updated.

    20230927_131143.jpg

Their fee for the handful of subtle changes (and picking out carpet, paint, furniture, etc.) was just under $35k.

There’s sadness in this spoiler, beware!
One of the saddest things I’ve witnessed was parents explaining to their young daughter they couldn’t afford the princess treatment at Disney. It convinced me it was a one and done experience for me.

If I remember, I will ask my brother in law (architect) if $10k per hour is standard rate.

There was a place in town that had been here forever, my dad worked there when he was 14.
It was a curbside service/or go in type of joint. The walls were chocolate colored from decades of cigarette smoke so we would generally opt for the curbside service.
Anyhow, one day me and the bride were out there (windows down) waiting on our cheeseburgers (with grilled onions :hungry:) and a gal next to us hollered at the waitress gal and said, "m'am, a cockroach just crawled out of my burger", so my wife sez to me "are you eating yours?" And I was like "you bet I am cause we already paid :anonymous:, but we wont be coming back".
Not sure if the gal actually...
    1. Had that happen
    2. Brought her own roaches from home
    3. Was just trying to get a free burger

Either way, we never went back and it closed in the next year or two. I think it was open 60+ years.
