Wheel Recommendations (2015 TRD SPORT)

    Hello!

    Been a while since I last posted, but it's time for a tire change and I'd like to swap out for new wheels as well! I have a Blue 2015 TRD Sport, and I will be getting the Nitto Grappler G2s in 265/70R17 (I had had them for the last 70,000+ miles and really liked them). Currently running stock wheels, and I'll be sticking with the stock lift and wheel size as well.

    Does anyone have recommendations on wheels that they have really liked or had a good experience with? I'd like to get black wheels or black with silver/gunmetal accents. Any advice or recommendations is much appreciated! Thanks!

    @tbett56 the most common application aftermarket is a 17x8 with a 0mm offset. If you want to stay closer to stock, you would need to go positive on the offset. One popular wheel brand is Method.     Hey, thank you for the reply. I guess I am just confused on the wheel sizing in general. If I'm sticking with the same wheel and tire size, wouldn't there be no need for offset? Are aftermarket wheels not offered in the stock size? Also, how would the offset effect driving/handling? Sorry, if these are dumb questions, I just don't want to buy a wheel and have any kind of rubbing occur. Thank you for the help!

    @tbett56 unfortunately, unless you go custom build, most manufacturers build the most common offsets that fit multiple applications then drill for the bolt pattern. This reduces the amount of stock necessary and still meets demand. A wider stance gives better stability to the vehicle. Stock size is a 7.5 + 30mm. Aftermarket is either 8 or 8.5 with a range of -12 to +25. The only dumb question is the one that's not asked. To stay as close to stock, you would need an 8inch wide wheel with a +25. The Ultra Maverick might be an option or the Method 316.

    Got it. I will take a look at those. Thank you! Last question, is there any way to tell what kind of offset I would need for a specific wheel to prevent rubbing? Like is there a calculation or general numbers that are typically safe?

    Absolutely, coming as close to factory offset is your best bet to avoid rubbing. Here is an offset calculator LINK. Look for high positive offsets. DM coming your way.
