    going to be fun!
    1. Accept what’s happened
    2. Pay for repairs
    3. Lawyer up

How long have you owned this truck and where did you buy it pre-owned from?

Have you tried nicely going back to the dealer that originally did the repair and asking if they will make it right?

Sucks, but you can still try the original dealer that did the work.

The original dealer insists, of course, that they are "not responsible."

Unfortunately it looks like your on your own then. Your best course of action since the original dealer does not want to work with you, and toyota doesnt either (they have no obligation to), is to have the dealer that seems to be on your side document everything, do the repair, then take the original dealer to small claims court.

Pretty sure these guys are blowing smoke at you cause they can't be bothered to do the work. Also, hearing things like "swelled gaskets" blips my BS meter.

There are no rubber parts on the hard line that run under the cab at that connection point aside from that "jacketing" they seem to be saying was jacked up from somebody using pliers on it.

There ARE seals that go inside those quick disconnects and is a common leak point from many who've had the fuel pump recall done. See this one for example (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/18-tacoma-fuel-leak.730776/), specifically the photos in post #6.

Worst case, those lines with the disconnects from the pump to the hardlines MIGHT need to be replaced. This can be done by dropping the tank (or pulling the bed from my experience on my DCLB). Best case, the gasket that's there can be carefully reinstalled and reassembled.

For what it's worth, I've replaced both the supply and return hose from the top of the pump/sender to those metal hardlines with basic rubber hose and hose camps when I installed the LRA 33 gallon tank 5 years ago.

My thoughts. The dealer who did the recall work improperly does not want to be labeled as "responsible" for the prior work despite obvious documentation to the contrary. In this stage, contacting Toyota corporate, maintaining complete documentation of everything that happened, and keeping all parties in the same loop is important. You may not want to do it, but having a face to face with the service manager of the original dealer and presenting your case might gain some traction. The dealer does not want to be found liable or responsible, both are specific legal terms, which are best left out of the conversation, as is any talk of legal counsel. Just having the conversation implies that you are ready to go as far as possible, especially if the repairs are expensive and should be covered under a recall. The mantra should be "I just want this fixed properly" "I am not here to assign blame or responsibility".

And, again, all of this should be documented and passed along to Toyota corporate (who despite what they say, have a ticket still open on this issue, as they are ultimately responsible for something as dangerous as a fuel leak caused by a dealer who did not do recall work properly).

    Good luck!

Toyota is not responsible for the quality of service or warranty work performed by a dealer service department.

Unfortunately toyota is not responsible for the work. They can step in to make it right, but they have no obligation after 12k/12 months to do anything.
I worked at VW for 6 years, much of that was as a warranty admin dealing with claims like this.

I get it. Toyota, as a manufacturer, adhering to specific language in a TSB or warranty, may not accept responsibility.

One other thing the OP may look into would be specific state statutes associated with these activities.
Along with filing a complaint with NHTSA indicating that a prior TSB was not repaired correctly and still represents a hazard.
A couple more agency complaints pushed towards corporate might produce movement.
