Fog Light switch

Hi All,
My first time on. Can someone help me find a link, or a description?? I am installing after market fog lights on my Bull Bar. I purchased a Nilight rocker switch (Amazon $9.00), not realizing Toyota changed the size opening for 2023. So my switch (a 5 blade) with backlighting is too tall and will not fit into the opening.
I am having difficulty finding a rocker or push switch that has backlighting and will fit in the smaller opening.
Help finding a thread or link to some switches would be appreciated. Thanks for taking time to help. I have a 2023 TRD Sport.

alternatively, if you're looking for a more specific resource, or specific switch text, air on board is how i learned all the different sizes-- you'll be looking at their 800 series, with the smaller version being their 900 series.

AoB makes a wide range of really nice OEM-sized and appearance switches in both the short and tall sizes. If you get the light blue backlit ones they are a very close match to the OEM light blue backlighting as well. Not the cheapest option but they are really well made (tbh the printing is crisper and plastic color better than my OEM switches in my view)

Thank you both. I am going with the Aironboard switch. There is not a picture of the back of the switch on the website. Do I need an adapter of some sort?

 

The switch should come with its own wiring harness. You just need to splice the harness into your wires, preferably with self soldering or butt-crimp connectors.

The AoB switches have a plug and a pigtail harness, so you can splice the open wires but still unplug the switch itself without touching the actual wires. If you want the switch illumination to light and dim with the rest of the interior backlighting, you can get a plug and play harness and pigtail setup that takes out most of the splicing needs so the only thing to splice is the connection to your accessory:

I have several switches in one panel so this option was ideal for me, I used several pre-made daisy chain connectors to add more switches to the backlighting harness without splicing anything.

 

Thanks everyone. Another question. I purchased an Auxbeam foglight set that came with everything, harness, and switch. I wanted to have the factory look switch, so I did buy the one from Aironboard.
The harness is a 3 wire: black, red, yellow.
The switch is a 4 wire: black, red, blue, green.
I wired the black to black, red to red and yellow to green.
Everything works, but the light for the switch remains on instead of going off when I shut everything down.

The blue wire from the switch (instructions state to wire to dash parking light circuit. Suggests using the cig lighter) If I do this, will it prevent the switch light from staying on?

Sorry for the simple questions, I am very new to this. Thanks for your help.

 

what is it wired to currently?

did you get the illumination harness previously linked?

 

The harness that came with the lights are all installed. Off the relay and into the cab are 3 wires-red, black yellow.

it sounds to me like you're using a different wiring harness straight off the battery.

 

Ok, here's how my air_on_board switch works and yours is probably the same.
Red - Power into the switch.

Green - Power out to relay trigger.

Blue - Power into switch for back light. Either
from fuse box or better yet from illumination harness linked below to let you dim the switch with the rest of your lights.

Black - Ground.

Wired like this, your indicator light will go on and off with the switch.
