Roll up Tonneau won’t latch

Hi all-
Purchased new roll up tonneau cover. It is 100% the right size/specs but having a hard time getting it to reach far enough for its final latch.
I included a picture to try to demonstrate the issue because
-it’s not the latching mechanism
It’s associated with the cover itself seeming like a 1/2 inch too short to reach its final stage before latching .

thinking it may need to be stretched ? ANYYYY ideas welcome to trouble shoot this. Thanks

 

Let it sit in the sun and give it another try after a while


P s this is the section for deals lol.

but it’ll stretch a bit once it’s warmed up and hopefully go on easier. Maybe once it’s latched it’ll be easier to do so in the future. Otherwise it’s probably attached too far forward
