I see what you’re after now. I probably shouldn’t say the rubber IS glued down but it seems like it is. I’d imagine a heat gun could help take it off. As for replacement material, I’m not really sure what would be good. A flat piece of plastic would probably do it although you’d need to shape it for the location accordingly. Not a big fan of buying things but I don’t mind doing so in this instance to take brainwork out of the equation.

Underneath the rubber is the wireless charger itself. The rubber is not part of the wireless charger, it’s adhered to the plastic piece that the wireless charger module fastens to. So if you simply cut out the rubber, you will see the wireless charger. If you were to remove the wireless charger from the adapter piece, you’d see an empty rectangle hole where you cut the rubber out.

So you could take the adapter piece and use that as a template for a thin piece of plastic? So the trick would simply be removing the rubber cleanly, correct?

Well, be careful because that blade could cut board traces. You could probably get most of it with a pair of small scissors then put something under the remaining rubber along the edge to use the blade.

All you need to do to cut the rubber out safely is remove the wireless charger from the trim piece that has the rubber.

Ahhhh... I thought the rubber was glued to the circuit board and the trim piece simply lifted off.

So... is it difficult to remove the trim piece from the rest of the charger? If not, this sounds like an easy fix.

It’s all screws. Easy. Lift up the shifter trim panel and remove (pull boot off of parking brake, disconnect shifter light if auto). Empty console and remove felt bottom pad, remove 2 10mm bolts. Lift up console and slide back slightly to clear where the tabs interlock to the front console half. Remove rear console half. Unplug wireless charger. Undo screws holding down the front console half (3 screws if auto, 2 if manual), slide straight back, lift up and out.

undo the 4 or 5 screws holding the wireless charger adapter to the front console

undo the 4 or so screws that hold
The wireless charger to the adapter. Remove the wiring from the charger, the charging indicator, the little plastic slot the look is clipped into, and the hole the loom clamp is clipped into. After that you’ve got an empty plastic trim adapter with an exposed piece of rubber. Cut and do whatever you see fit at that point.

Anyone have the info on the replacement tray? I'd like a little more room in that spot.

I was able to find 2 pictures posted by someone on here.

Main thing is that you buy the correct one for your transmission:

    58810-04020-C0 - Manual w/o wireless charger
    58810-04010-C0 - Automatic w/o wireless charger

I believe the trays themselves are the same auto or manual, but they come with the front console half and that is transmission specific.

I’m not sure if the console halves are different between wireless charger or non, that’s a comparison I’ll have to make after I receive mine. I placed the order at a different place now.

Whoops, that should have been 58810-04010-C0. I’ll edit the post.

Just for the record - the actual charger itself does not come in that kit. It just comes with the front console half and the tray meant for wireless charging. The charger itself fastens onto the tray after the fact and the charger is something like $6-700

Certainly there has to be an aftermarket charger that works in here? Remove the old one and install the new one - oem fit and finish (minus the heat lump)
