Viair 300P question

After cutting the clamps off the power cord to install larger clamps i'm now at a loss trying to figure out what side of the power cord was pos and what side is neg. Need help confirming if the inline fuse on the cord is on the pos or neg. Thanks

 

Fuse is typically on the (+) side. IIRC, the positive and negative wires have a slightly different shape. I can check on mine later (I cut the wires to permanently mount it).

Thanks, that's what i thought too. What's got me confused is the fuse is on the side that's got ridges... isn't that usually neg?

 

update: went with your recommendations (in-line fuse and pos jumper cable clamp were both ribbed... negative was smooth) and worked like a champ... the garage is still standing!! I have a good excuse now to updated from the 10 year old brittle yellow air line to the braided black version after it snapped trying to get to the passenger rear... at least it happened at home. Thanks again!
