Yeah we had a bunch of Nissans with reverse over there and an f-150. The worst thing after driving manual so constantly was the time I pushed in the clutch on a friends auto, but really just slammed the brakes at 65.

What is interesting about the transmission?

So what if your wife can drive yours. I do not know what your point is. It sounds condescending. There are many wives that can drive an MT.

The way in which the clutch engages can be and for some of us, is inconsistent. There are many others that have this issue as documented on this thread and elsewhere and is at least part of the reason for the accumulator delete. If you don't have this issue, that is great.

Lol. You’re reading too much into it. I would be proud if mine did drive stick. MOST don’t.

It has a synchromesh reverse and no pilot shaft. My wife grew up driving an automatic and learned to drive a manual 50+ years ago and has no interest in going back to a automatic. She seem to be in the minority of female or male drivers for that matter. The accumulator smooths the release of the clutch other wise Toyota would have never spent the money to install it. I have been driving manuals for 62 years and latterly millions of miles I'm kind of used to them. I rebuilt all of the manuals for a large transmission shop years ago.

I think he was trying to make a joke. I didn't get any impression he was digging on you personally. It's hard sometimes to get a point across in this 2D "post" world.

I'm at 600 miles, still a ways to go for the synchros/gears to mesh. brand new, tranny was jerky. but half of that is gone (or my timing is getting better)

So I figured out it was me going too easy on the truck. Meaning, I was shifting gears to slow. This truck wants higher rpms and fast shifts to make me feel like it's been driven correctly, so that's what I'll do. I'm at 515 miles now, didn't take too long to get it ha.

Were you in a 22RE or the 3.Slow?
I had a '90 SR5 Xtra Cab 3.0. Finally lost the engine to a blown oil line in '03, installed a 3.4 and it's still going. Sold it to a friend earlier this year.
