Hey guys, so the rear cross sill assembly on my truck got dented from an accident. I’m doing the repairs myself and looking for some advice. Is this something that can be bent back in place or does the whole sill need to be replaced? I appreciated the help! Also, the last image is of the undamaged side for reference.

Why not put through collision ? You came out of where ever and that’s how it was. Isn’t that what happened ?
That’s a pricey job , left rear quarter , , decals , tail lights , bumper, paint clips and such

let your insurance handle it. if this was a repair you were capable of doing yourself you wouldn't be asking us.

By that logic we wouldn't have a forum and people wouldn't learn anything new.

Car-part.com. I would go used. We needed 1 bed side for our 08. calling around, it was cheaper to get a whole bed. the yards didn't want to deal with pulling of just a side. we bought our complete bed for $350, with a toyota bed mat in it, no tailgate or lights

So, if you get a whole bed, you can just transfer your good bed side and tailgate to it, they bolt on, easy. then get the new (used) side painted and put it on. there may be a slight mismatch to the cab, up to you if you want the painter to blend it for extra $. leave the decals off and upgrade to an aftermarket bumper

Change a lightbulb? No way, things are hard! Don't even try to figure it out, pay someone else to do it for you.

    Hi,
I had he same think on my 2nd gen - I bought a OE bed sill from Toyota, then it took less than a day to switch it over. I needed to unbolt the bed so it can be shifted to get to the bedside sheet metal bolts. I changed the bed sill so the tailgate would fit correct. Look for a used rear quarter in the OE color so no painting needed.

I already have all OEM parts to complete the entire job except a new sill. The plan was to have a shop spray the new rear quarter panel and bumper end cap for me and I would reinstalled everything.

Replacing the rear panel means you are already half way to replacing the sill, as the other panel would then also need to be removed..I was just hoping to avoid having to doing that.

I honestly feel this can be bent back or left as is, this section doesn’t actually support the body. Look at the undamaged side, there is a gap.

Don't try and bend it back. Replace it.
