    Happy Monday everyone,

    Looking for lift opinions.. I realize there’s tons of info here on the topic. And I’ve read over quite a bit of it. Just thought I’d post and see if any new thoughts came of it.

    I just purchased a 23 OR DC MT. I’m going back and forth between two lift/tire setups. I don’t think there would be big difference in cost as I would stay with pretty much the same equipment. Save a little on tires and not using a preload collar. I’m going back and forth between a 3” lift up front and 285/75/r16s or a Pro style lift 1 1/2” front 1” rear and staying with 265/75/r16s.

    Both builds would be Bilstein 6112/5160, Icon RXT leaf packs, 22-23 TRD Pro Wheels (+4 offset I believe) Camburg X-Joint UCA’s,Toyo AT3 tires. I think the only difference between the two builds would be tire size and a Westcott Preload Collar to get the extra 1/2” on the 285 build.

    It’s subjective but what would you guys do? Pics always welcome! :)

    It honestly just comes down to the look that you're going for. From a "ease of use" perspective the shorter option with smaller tires puts you outside of the scope of having to cut back bumpers and what not to clear the larger tires. Aside from that, you'll have a cost delta between the tires of course.

    Both are viable setups. My personal .02, and the most common combination that our customers pick up is the 6112/5160/RXT combo as you've outlined. They'll put the 6112s to the top-most setting which nets you about 2". It'll give you slightly more lift up front than in the rear lending itself well to the "levelled" look. Regardless of the lift amount you'll need to at least trim some front bumper plastic to fit the 285/75 under there at full articulation. If you're concerned about that you can go just a dash smaller and should have full clearance since you're not running a ton of offset.

    I did your option B, middle clips on the 6112s, somewhere between 1-1.25" rise all around.

    I'm not doing mine for looks, I wanted a suspension that does a better job hauling the camper across country. For obvious reasons, big heavy tires and limited down travel are a no-go for me.

    I originally ordered mine preassembled at the second-highest setting. I wound up hating the handling at that height. So I spent an afternoon moving everything down a couple notches. The beauty of the 6112s and adjustable leaf pack is that you can do that. All it costs is an extra trip to the alignment shop.

    That's my recommendation. Try one height for a week. If you don't like it, grab your wrenches and jack stands and try a different setting. Changing your mind is cheap. Once you have the height dialed, that's when you commit and order tires.

    Depending on what it is that you want to do with your truck, you might really get the same result out of both.

    I am on 285/70/17, with SPC UCA, Bilstein, 6112 upfront and 5160s in the rear with a Deaver stage one in prep for a shell in the coming future.

    I didn’t get quite 3 inches upfront and it’s fine with everything that I’ve been doing so far, the rear has a bit of rake, but the shell when added shouldn’t have too much effect on how the truck sets from a stance, perspective, and more to do with just have it rides.

    I’m setting the truck up to be a mild off Roader, to go play around and local OHV areas in to do some multi day over landing style trips. I don’t see beating my truck up too much but it’s also not gonna be a princess and I wanted some extra ground clearance for when I’m out alone. I’ve always lifted my trucks in the past just to get a better ride out of them both on and off road.
