Brand new truck damaged.

Picked up my 2023 sr5 brand new Friday, just came off the carrier truck. Was rainy outside so dealer barely detailed it. On Saturday I noticed the chin spoiler all tore up when I was detailing. Called the dealership and they ordered a new one for me . Glad they stood by it and are making it right. Not a big deal but wonder how it happened. Must be from the chains when they strap the trucks down on the carriers .

 

A mere flesh wound! Glad they are taking care of it.

 

That sucks man, but it’s a sign to get rid of it. The truck will look a lot better with it gone.

 

I kind of like keeping my vehicles all original

 

I’ve still kept mine on… personally think it’s more proportional looking from the front, like height to width ratio. Also 2wd so no need to get big tires and flex clearances, not lifting.

Don’t feel bad years ago I bought a new Ranger and the front bumper was bent didn’t even notice it until I got home and parked in the driveway to admire . Fortunately the dealer ordered a new one for me.

My uneducated guess is your’s was done during transit when loaded on or off the truck.

I claim first, it’s totaled , scrap it…. Now that’s over, happy that the dealer is getting it resolved. Congratulations on the new Tacoma and many happy years

Thanks yes that’s what I’m thinking happened.

 

Glad the Dealer is taking care of it for you. If they didn't. I'm sure you would be able to find someone with one that they are willing to give you.

I just put the new one on. Dealer paid for it I picked it up from the parts department

 

Would you like an extra one? I keep giving mine away to people, and yet the darn thing never seems to leave my garage. It's like a demonic cat.

I drove mine through snow banks and hit it with curbs... I finally had to had to undo the bolts to lose it!!!
