Why doesn't my Icon RXT leaf pack fit (2005 Tacoma)??

I'm currently installing Icon RXT leaf packs and Bilstein 5160's on my 2005 Tacoma TRD off road. Only problem is, the leaf packs aren't fitting.
So far I've taken off the old shock and leaf pack, dropped the axle down (I'm only working on the passenger side right now), and bolted in the ends of the new Icon leaf pack. When I was going to raise the axle back up and put the u bolts back on with the new leaf pack, I realized it was way out of place and as of now, I don't know how to get this thing to fit.

As the pictures hopefully show, the leaf pack sits too far right (when looking at it from the back), and too far forward (when looking at it from the side). It also seems like they are really drooped out (far more than the advertised amount of lift).
Just for reference, the part number of the leaf packs is: 158505
I have them set up in configuration #2 (3rd leaf from top swapped out)
I have them oriented with the side with the 2 brackets and military wrap facing forward.
Every single website I have checked says these will work with my truck.

Does anybody have experience with mounting these on a 2005 Tacoma? I can only find videos of people putting these on 3rd gens. I don't think I did anything wrong (but I wouldn't be surprised if I did). Any help/tips would be much appreciated.

I have not run these specific springs, but have swapped leafs a couple times on my '05.

It is normal for the pin to not perfectly line up... some springs put the axle a bit more forward or backwards than others. If the difference is minor, just use a pry bar or a strap to wrangle it into place, in a way where you aren't trying to push the truck off the stands.

The left-right misalignment is a bit odd, none of mine were that off. It may be that you need to keep the bushing screws loose at both ends of the spring, and not torque things until both springs are installed and the truck is off jackstands.

Don't worry about height until you have the job done and the truck is in level pavement. Even then the springs will settle a bit over time. It's definitely not going to look right with the axle on jacks and the u-bolts removed.

So I wouldn't sweat it, EXCEPT, make damn sure you have the springs installed the correct way... if they are marked left vs. right for example, and also there's going to be one end of each spring that must be installed facing the front of the truck. My springs have something I think was called a "military wrap" (?) on one end, and that has to be either at the front or the back, I forget. But you have to get this right, so double check your work.

Here, I found some photos from a spring swap:

    misalignment.jpg

    adjustment.jpg

Used a ratchet strap to get it to line up.

Also, make sure you aren't overstretching your brake lines and cables when you drop the axle, I forgot to do that once!

Oh, and finally: Welcome to TW!

How is the truck supported in the bottom photo? I see how the axle is being held up by the floor jack but what about the rest of the truck? It almost looks like the axle not being aligned with the springs is due to the way the truck is being supported.

    Hmm ya good point
Floor jacks are holding the the rear mounts for the leaf packs.
I'll move it and see what that does

Edit: would the tow bar be a good spot for some floor jacks? I tried putting them on the chassis (underneath the back seats) and it was pretty close to tipping backward it felt like (I've got a camper shell on the back)
    Thank you for the reply

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to make some adjustments when I get home and I'll try this out. I've been watching the brake line pretty carefully, but thanks for the reminder!

Loosen up the bolts on the leaf spring mounts and use your foot to push the leaf pack over and drop it down onto the hole on the axle mount,it's all about man handling it.

    Update:
After some manhandling I got it to drop in. I used some ratchet straps to pull the leaf spring towards the differential (they were attached to the leaf spring on the other side), and loosened up the u bolts on the driver side. The combination of these two things got the passenger side leaf pack lined up nicely.
I'll be hopefully getting the driver side leaf pack done tomorrow, as well as installing the shocks.

So far I've done extended brake lines, resealed my rear diff with and RTV silicone gasket, and pretty soon I'll have my leaf packs in, new rear shocks, and Bilstein 6112s up front.

Thanks everyone for the assistance, the build is going somewhere!

Make sure you put them in the correct direction, there is a front and a back that is not clear on their installation instructions

Ya I'm pretty sure they're in there correctly. The military wrapped bushing goes towards the front

The whole issue was you still had the stock leaf still firmly attached on the other side.

Correct... once I loosed up the u bolts on the other side everything went smoothly

Nice job on the strap, I did leaf bushings on my F350 this summer and needed to do that as axle would slide forward because shocks and sway bars mount on the front side
