Perhaps a second work day is in order. Everyone bring a shovel to dig the big ditch!

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
FWIW @WiscoPat, forced air, without a ceiling, will be more expensive...hot air rises. Also, without a ceiling and insulation, that warm air inside the roof will eventually take it's toll on your shingles...ask me how I know.

Agreed, insulation will be done properly.

Lots of good ideas in here for a future shop!

How's he supposed to install the hoist with a ceiling in the way?

Sounds like he needs to just crowdsource the plans for a new shop from here and get started building

How is he supposed to install an overhead crane without very sturdy rafters that can easily take some drywall while you’re at it?

This sounds the most interesting to me as well. From what I understand, it heats the objects in the room rather than the air. I wonder if that means that it would heat the concrete, which would be really nice if you have to lay on the floor in the winter for a project. :notsure:

Finished my interior walls 2 weeks ago. Fully insulated, 3 yrs ago.
I'm contemplating finding a split unit like hotel rooms have so the shop can have heat and ac.
Right now it's just a little IR heater and a propane Mr.Heater.

Damn, 11 hours yesterday. Someone didn't get the memo, apparently. I'm trying to skate smoothly into retirement here.

Does this mean you get to leave a few hours early at the end of the week?

Estes got hit with a randsomware attack that took them down yesterday, so I'm sure that was a factor!

Catch-up post because I haven’t had much cell signal at camp. It was warm today so nothing super adventurous. Also homework sucks if anyone forgot from ye olde school days; doubly so when on vacation. Did some laundry though so that was good. First order of the day was to fill my belly with a pasty - standard protocol when visiting the U.P.

    IMG_6544.jpg

Fumee Falls is right up US-2 from the hotel so I made a quick stop there. Sunlight was harsh and hot, not my best photography in action.

    IMG_0288.jpg

Would have been better if the sun was cooperative for this one, not often you can get a truck in the same frame:

    IMG_6547.jpg

Little Quinnesec Falls in Niagara, WI is almost impossible to see from the ground expect from 1/4 mile away through a chain link fence boundary. Flew the drone, much clearer view.

    IMG_6550.jpg

Rock Dam Falls in the U.P. is super nice and not bad to get to. Some rutted forest roads which are slow to drive but that’s all. Multiple drops, can’t fit in one photo. Leaves here were amazing but I still don’t think we’ve reached peak.

    IMG_0292.jpg

Spent a long time continuing down the forests roads to a nearby campsite at Carney Lake but didn’t stay because it was all bear hunters and dogs running around which is not cool. Colors on the lake were nice though.

    IMG_6562.jpg

    Gratuitous truck pr0n:

    IMG_6565.jpg

That’s it for now. Trying to decide what’s next. Door #1 is a ridiculously hard voyage but it’s too damn hot today. Door #2 is lazily driving the U.P. Tough decisions…
