True, though the silt is no picnic. Drove thru a long silt pit in Death Valley and emptied probably 200lbs of that shit out of my skid plates when I got home.

Yeah silt sucks too. A couple years ago when we had a real silty summer I hit some huge pits in central Nevada. Caked the air filter and the skid plates were packed full of it. Although I still think it’s easier to clean.

Is that a specialty bolt? If not I have a bunch of random hardware in my garage Id imagine could work. If you have the size let me know and I can take a look.

Much to my amazement the bolt appears fine. Kind of a knee jerk reaction to post before I got the bolt out. Have everything loaded up for a week hunting and the truck made a weird buzzing vibration under light throttle on my way to get fuel. Looks like it's been this way for a little while. I'm a dumb ass. I thought for sure the thread would be fucked but they are fine. I just need a nut which i should be able to source in town in the morning.

Nice to catch that before your trip.

Im just back in town from a few nights in the Diamonds, licking my wounds from a blown stock on a stud deer up top. Good luck!

I feel like an idiot I didn't catch it when i was under it Sunday, but very thankful to not find it on the top of a mountain with clients in tow...
The Diamonds are ass kickers, they'll make you real humble real quick. Blown stalks make them even worse.

Found a nut that fit it in my stash. That didn't fix the buzz/ vibration. Turns out a bush must have caught part of the heat shield for the fuel tank and bent it. Now with a load and my trailer hooked up it lowered it just enough to rub on my driveshaft... maybe I'm too rough on this truck. It led me to find the possible catastrophic failure though so I'm not mad.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    Who doesn't? :D

Heading to 172/173 Sunday afternoon, can't legally start my hunt until Tuesday though. Gives me some time to poke around a little more and get out of town.

Wow! glad you found that before the failure. Was about to say I still have all the hardware for the stock leaves when I swapped them out unless I reused something (like a nut and bolt :anonymous:).
