Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has helped me fix many things on my '02 TRD, but, with a baby coming this year, I'm looking to get into a new Tacoma. And I'm wondering if anyone in the area can help. You guys have been great for me in the 6 years I've owned my truck.

I'm looking for a '23 double cab off-road. And I'm looking to find one as cheap as possible. Minimal options and at or below MSRP. I was wondering if anyone here was in New England, preferably Southern Maine, Seacoast NH, or North Shore MA. But I am willing to travel further for a deal. I've heard of people talking directly to fleet managers or online sales managers to get these deals, but I haven't had much luck in the past week of trying. I'm hoping to take advantage of the fact that the 4th gens are coming real soon, and dealers wanting 3rd gens gone. Any help is appreciated.

You might want to try dealers in Boston where I bought my 2020. Idk how their pricing is since this covid happened, but I was able to buy below msrp back in 2020.

Took me 4 months to find a new 3rd gen. Finally snagged one 2 months ago. There is such low inventory all over that dealers really aren't selling under MSRP. Many are still charging $2k-$5k market adjustments. The dealer I bought mine from wanted a $2k market adjustment, but since it was the last day of the month, I was able to get them to drop it because I wouldn't have bought the truck.

Production is ending for the 3rd gen so I don't think we will see dealer discounting to get them off the lot. With the unknown of the 4th gen I think 3rd gen prices are going to be elevated for a while.

I'm in the northeast as well.

Try mcgee toyota in Claremont nh. James Dion at mcgee was helpful and has sold to other members here. I ended up going with Braintree, ma Toyota since they had my deposit and came in ontime. At the time neither was doing markups. Every North shore toyota dealer was putting the screws to people for 3k-7k and probably still is. If you want to drive to Braintree they were great, if so pm me for my sales guys info.

Grappone Toyota in Bow, NH (basically Concord); I bought my TRD Sport 6MT there last year for MSRP when every other dealership in the area was charging significant markups.

I'd recommend maybe looking for a very lightly used one, being used you can try to negotiate. Knowing the new car msrp, looking for a used one with some options for a couple thousand less, maybe CPO with 100k warranty kind of offsets paying a premium used price.

Unfortunately bad timing due to that. Dealers know with not much inventory coming in they can hold on their pricing and sit on the truck worst case.

Paying sticker was non-existent before covid, laughable at that. The third gen thread has pricing and delivery threads every 5-10 topics.

I found a few OR 3rd gens 4x4 either new or slightly used for msrp. It can be done. Definitely have to be willing to travel and be quick/ready to buy when a good deal pops up as they don’t last more than a few days to a week by the time they hit the major sites. I was also looking specifically for a manual with black paint. If you’re open to any color and automatic I’m sure you can get something at MSRP. There’s dealers around me still taking deposits for 3rd gens at MSRP.

Not sure how far it is to drive back from Chicago, but DeKalb Toyota has 15 showing online with several at $1,500 off MSRP after their dealer handling fee, etc. i bought mine there last October, super easy to deal with and no hard sell on anything. Plus it’ll be a fun drive back (if you enjoy driving).

could also get it shipped for probably $1000. Might be worth it to figure out the gas/time/wear costs. I would drive though. Love a good road trip.

Copeland Toyota has some TRD off-roads I believe, good guys there. I'm in the process of looking for a third gen too. Supply is very limited so I wouldn't expect a big discount.

Viable option, 2 days traveling, saved 1500 new and got the truck, kind of a no brainer if nothing is up his way which seems to be the case.. Fly down and drive it back.

The Toyota dealership in Epping, NH has been emailing me with Tacoma's below MRSP and seen some other people on here get good deals from them. They've done all my free warranty service so far and all positive so far.

I went through my buying experience about a month ago in Massachusetts.

I would recommend searching for Tacoma inventories at dealers closest to you.

    https://www.toyota.com/dealers/maine/portland/inventory/

Look at what features you "need" vs "want" and balance it with your budget. Use the filters and proximity on the website to narrow down your search. On the website, focus on vehicles that are in inventory and not the units that are being built. Dealers want to clear their lots to make room for incoming vehicles.

If you are not stuck on particular features (color, 5 vs 6ft bed, etc), then it can only help your bargaining strength. My problem was that I really wanted a 6 ft bed.

    BTW, good luck.

It's too much to quote everyone individually. But I'm going to be going through all your dealer suggestions tonight, and looking at their inventory. If '24 pricing comes out soon and it's within a few thousand of current prices. Then I'll be considering them as well.

That's the thing, 2024 pricing is never coming out!
Okay that was a bit dramatic, but it's taking them forever. Ranger came out after Tacoma, previewed pricing the day after internet release, and 2024 Raptors are showing up on vehicle search locators.
