    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

C-clamps... or if you are going to use F-clamps, use the type that have the ability to screw tight.

The quick grips don't have the ability to screw tight... which means they don't have the ability to slowly loosen (screw).

I'd clamp the whole stack. Loosen and remove the center pin. Then loosen the clamps slowly.

Honestly... I think that stack looks scarier than it is. It'll be under pressure, but I'd bet it won't be that much. It won't be like a coil spring type tension. (But that's just a guess)

I used a big hammer and prayed
The rusty paint some idiot put on it helped it loosen slowly.
Yeah I couldn't lift them solo. Super heavy!

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Once you get them apart, that mini pack on top, and the overload leaf on the bottom go to the scrap yard... they'll be half the weight at that point

So, how did you clean your springs?

Oh, duh! They are hiding in your pics.
Going to just have to grind it out

You don't need to order new end rubber for the end retainers do you!? Mine are in need of replacement. Have yet to find the part though. Anyone know what it's technical name is?

    Edit: Spring alignment clip insulator

Some anti squeak pads as well.

Those nice welds are @Kwikvette. I'll take some pictures of the other side after I give it a little love.

Welding those in was a major bitch tho, let me tell ya.

Can't get in position. My old ass couldn't see crap. Tried with my glasses, without my glasses, damn near standing my head.

Filling big assed gaps didn't help one bit either.

Feel ya on that - my big jack stand when doing cam reinforcement - one day a lift would be amazing.

    Now thats some sexy French.
    @Kwikvette me next?!

These center pins you linked above seem a smidge small.
How did the fit go with your pack?
    Should there be wiggle room?

It'd have to be with my tools

Matt isn't afraid of using an angle grinder, nor am I, but I would've used my plasma cutter and hand torch

I got the 3/8" center pins from Oriellys, can just ask for them by name, they have em in the back. Yours look like they may have had 1/2 center pins which are uncommon and won't fit in the axle perches.
