Speaking of work:

I drove through a construction zone today, they had an actual "Men Working" sign, I haven't seen one in years.

 

Was anyone working?

They are building a new bridge across the hwy near the house, I have yet to see anyone working on it.

 

There were about 5 men doing road repairs, all seemed busy.

It struck me how common terms of my youth like flagman have turned into flagger.

 

I’m not a welder, but for some reason I keep welding. Someday I hope to get good at it. But for now I’ll just lay some bubblegum on things that aren’t that important. Here’s a transom plate for my buddies square stern.

 

I could use a Men Working sign.....

 

The other tech in our shop quit today. That's 5 in the 7 years I've worked there.

Looks like I'll be busy for the foreseeable future

 

We lose like 2 per week. Thats just the ones that I hear about.

 

Might be time to level up and try for a raise, since you'll inevitably be training and doing the tech work...

I'm the lead tech anyway so no raises to be had. Just more work haha

Don't cheat yourself brother, where there is supply and demand, there is a raise to be had. If you told them you were giving a today notice and starting your own shop how far up the creek would they be. Exactly. Go get that money.
