Feeling sad & happy... Tomorrow my silver 2007 Tacoma TRD with manual transmission, 138K miles, will be going to a new home, after 12 years of excellent & reliable service. On the upside, it's going to my brother (and more specifically, to my nephew, to replace a early 2000's 4Runner that has had to have one fix after another, and now with JB Weld recently discovered on the automatic transmission housing  My brother will be driving this Taco cross-country from CA to its new home in PA. Glad it's going to a new & happy home.

I did my research in SoCal (Los Angeles area) a few weeks ago, and I was frankly shocked/surprised at how much they are going for, and how it has held its resale value. Very few private party available for 2nd gen, and of the 25 or so I found around the same year (2005-2009) within a 100+ mile radius, only 1 manual transmission 4WD. I've never owned a motor vehicle that has held its value so well.

FYI this is what I found:
    4WD models across all inventory (2007-2009) AVG $17,400 - 15 vehicles
4WD models across same mileage range (136K or higher) AVG $16,024 - 7 vehicles
4WD models across same mileage range (136K or higher) LOW $11,795 - 1 vehicle
4WD models across same mileage range (136K or higher) HIGH $19,995 - 1 vehicle
    # of 4WD Manual TRD vehicles for sale (1) - cost $22,400

I just wanted to say that Tacomaworld has been an amazing resource, and I'm grateful that this awesome community has been so helpful over the past 12 years. So thank you! I did tell my brother and nephew about Tacomaworld so hopefully they'll be lurking here soon.

Sounds like the Tacoma DLT models I've been encountering since I bought the 2009 Tacoma Dad ordered according to his specs, which were the same as mine (I started with a new '84 Toyota Longbed Deluxe 4 cyl., 5 speed manual, running between the folks' ranch in western MT and seasonal fishery biologist work out of Sitka AK. I figure I'm taking care of Dad's Last Truck (SR5-DLT) for my kids and grandkids... He'll be remembering his uncle often...
