Truck won't start. Everything else lights up

My truck won’t start! Went to store. Locked it. Came back out, inserted key into ignition and truck wouldn’t start. EVERYTHING ELSE LIGHTS UP AND WORKS. The light blinks until the keys inserted, but won’t start.

Auto or manual?
If auto, are you sure it's in Park?

 

How old is battery?
Start with attempting to have it properly jumped.

 

^^- Could be this. Battery may have enough "juice" for the lights but not enough to crank it.

KISS is best starting point, no need to dive in to the bowels of the security system right away.

 

As noted by others, this is more likely a battery issue. If recall correctly, and Toyota started with a key not registered to the immobilizer ECU will crank normally. It just won't fire because the immobilizer cuts off the fuel and spark. Plus the indicator light would not go out.

 

Is the starter cranking, clicking, or nothing at all? Personally I'd check the battery voltage and try cleaning the contacts if its not cranking.
