I was in a predicament. I had sold my beloved cement 2020 offroad (14k miles) earlier this year due to spine surgery, purchased a new corolla cross from cedar park. Turned out to be a lemon, decided it needed to go asap. Had the cross for 15 days and was still waiting for the title and plates. Shopped the corolla cross and had them agree to the trade value. Went in to purchase a silver tacoma and it sold the same day before i got there. They had my current truck available due to the high sticker price 47k. Offered them 45k + remove the dealer installed options (tint nitro etc). Eventually they budged once I had left the dealer, it was also the last day of the month. People just need to be willing to walk, I was goig to drive out to Boerne same day.

I bought my 2020 in Nov 2019 right before they stopped offering deals on Tacomas.
    I paid 34,750 + TTL (USD). 2020 TRD OR DCSB V6 Auto 4X4. Base model, no options/add-ons.
So if you bought at the right time (pre-pandemic), and got the typical discounts/rebates, you are doing well now.
If you bought a few months later, and paid full price, maybe not.
IMO, it's probably more about timing than negotiation skills that determines where you are right now.

How did you decide a 15 day old car was a lemon?

Asking since I’m going through lemon law with a vehicle that’s been in the shop for 56 days as of today

Vehicle would stall out completely in motion or at stop lights. I took it to the dealer 4 times in those 15 days and the dealer kept the car to further test. They were able to finally replicate it, but had no fix for it. It stalled out going 50 mph on the access road one last time and decided it needed to go. I traded it in (550 miles), dealer quickly listed it as used CPO, and someone bought it 2 days after it was posted. I periodically would check the history on the carfax, looks like toyota purchased the vehicle back from the second owner about a month ago. You are eligible for lemon law on your car. It's 30 days in the shop in a 2 year grace period.
