Newbie here so please pardon my ignorance. I recently bought a 2014 Prerunner TRD Sport 4.0L/V6 DCSB. My first truck and my first Tacoma. I'm loving the truck - it's super clean and has less than 15k miles on it. It will probably need some fluid changes soon, mainly due to age and out of an abundance of caution.

I'm looking to upgrade the wheels and tires (no lift) with the general intent of a beefier look and modest off-roading needs. I understand that the Prerunner has the same suspension and brakes as TRDOR and will fit similar wheels. I plan to change the wheels first and then the tires a bit later. I've read through a bunch of forum posts on offsets and backspaces but am still unclear on what wheel/tire combo will not rub. Stock wheels are TRD Sport (17x7.5) have a +30 offset and came with 265/65R17 tires. The wheels I am looking at (TRD OEM 4Runner, Method, Icon, SCS) have a range of widths and offset. What range of offsets work without rub with 265/65R17 and 265/70R17 in this truck? Any other recommendations for wheel and tire size?

    Thanks.

Is your truck 6 lug? If so I went with 265/70/16s on stock 150k mile suspension with no issues. Recently put 3rd gen take off OR shocks and front coils on and it evened the look out more.

Yes, 6 lug. Are those OEM Dark Anthracite rims on yours? Truck is a beauty.

I basically did the same thing. 3rd gen off road shocks and coils on the front raised my front about an inch and leveled it out. I have 4Runner Trail Edition wheels. They are 17" and running 265/70R17 Falken Wildpeaks. I love the look of these wheels. They sit about 1/2" or so out farther than the stock wheels. No rubbing at all.2007 Toyota Tacoma_Exterior-10.jpg
