Repurposed my old mountain bike fanny pack. The main pocket had a broken zipper, but the front two are fine and the bag is waterproof to some degree. Sewed a neoprene back on it using an extra Harbor Freight tool drawer liner and added the straps and hardware. It's attached to the fairing screws so that should slow any purse snatchers. Big enough for my glasses, wallet, sunscreen, a few snacks.

I think it was 1 battery takes 3.something hours to charge, double it for two if you're doing them sequentially I guess.

Nearly instant torque w/ 2 or 3 times the amount you have on a Grom, but yeah, unless someone REALLY wanted an electric bike not a lot of use cases.

Not directed at you necessarily, more for the general conversation: I will say though, $8K is expensive, but if someone said "I want an electric motorcycle" that is, street legal, and can go over 35, there are starting to be more options that aren't $15K+ like some of the earliest electric motorcycles, or more for newer ones. I wouldn't be surprised if someday CA gave out a tax credit for electric motorcycles like they do ((see edit) i think? or maybe it's federal?) for cars, let's say it got down to $4K or $5K. If you lived in an apartment, didn't want the hassle of maintaining an ICE (oil changes, valves, etc) city oriented e-motos are starting to make sense. Or somewhere like Hawaii where you're never going about 45mph and could go the whole length of an island. Removeable battery is a big plus. If some day they actually finally released bikes with the universal battery that Honda and some others have agreed to and could hot swap them somewhere, that'd be cool as hell.

Anyway, to me, it's new and notable, but no way in hell I'd want one any time soon, and definitely would not replace my Grom lol. Looks-wise reminds me more of a TW200 than anything else.

    [Steps off soap box]

For reference at other price points, ranges, whatever:
    Livewire One $23K, 140mile range
Livewire del Sol $16K, 105mph top speed, 70 mi range @55mph
Surron Ultra Bee $6500, not street legal but more powerful, 56mph top speed
Sondors meta cycle $6500 80mph claimed, not sure range
    BMW CE-04 scooter: $13K, 75mph, 80 mile range
Fuell Flow - $14K 140 miles (this one intrigues me..)
    Zero FXE - $13K 85mph sub 100m range
    Zero DSR/X $25K, ADV-style Zero
    (https://www.cycleworld.com/bikes/electric-motorcycle-top-picks-to-buy/)

Edit: looks like a few states have a $500-1000 depending tax credit on electric motorcycles.

Edit 2: I'd sell a kidney for a Zero FXE. Nearly silent hooligan machine.

Edit 3: or a street legal Stark Varg in SM trim

Oh totally! There are definitely use cases for such a lil thing and like stated the innovation and competition are a good thing!

Electric has its place. (Hell just look at how the ENTIRE RC Car industry has shifted from nitro to brushless) buuuut standards and universal things like charging and batteries are far off.

If I could take the same batter and slap it in the a from then slap 3 or 4 in a bigger bike (like you do power tools around the house) heck yeah.

Also a coworker of mine has the zero dual sport.... It's a ROCKET off the line. But even he's like yeah I don't ride it more than to n from work cus range

I had a 2nd Gen FJR, put 40K miles on it. I can attest to they are a great bike. I’d get one with 6-speed, cruise control and electronic suspension.

They are very capable, comfy and powerful. I sold the FJR to my brother and moved to a Goldwing for more comfort/cruise control and, while I liked that, it was too heavy for my normal weekend mountain riding. Replaced the Wing with a 2017 Triumph Trophy is closer to the FJR than the Wing, but isn’t the hot rod the FJR is. I too find myself looking at late model FJRs on CL from time to time. Good bikes. Pix of FJR and the TT below.

The sheer joy in his voice when it moves. LOL Proves that with enough momentum and traction, any bike can go anywhere. :bikewheelie2: Halfway through the video and the canyons he's digging with the front wheel are nuts. Totally surprised it worked with all that weight, and love that he affectionately calls the GW "Piggy!"

Is my memory correct that they went to all LED lighting in ‘16? That’s important to me. The headlights are excellent and I don’t seem to have an issue being seen.

Don’t be fooled, an FJR is a sport bike. It just has a more upright riding position, luggage and can easily accommodate a passenger.

I wouldn't track an FJR though, which is what I'd do with a 600.

You could I think it would be fantasticly funny. The 600cc sport bike guys would wallow in shame as you blew past em on the front straight

You can track any bike. There are videos of guys taking my bike, the little CB500X, on the track and having a ball with it. I'd never say it's fast compared to other bikes, but it's as quick off the line as my WRX was.

We used to have a guy on a goldwing regularly do track days. He was definitely faster than most newbies in their liter bikes

I don't want to spend $10k+ on a 2016+ and wreck it on the track. I'm looking for a $4-5k bike I can slide off the track and not feel too bad. Also, I would never, ever track a commuter that I need to get me to work the next day.

Sure, you can track any bike, but you're not going to improve as fast or get the best by starting off on a 650 lb touring bike as you would by riding a bike 200+ pounds lighter.

I think a new track riding riding a Gold wing or touring bike is equally dumb as a new track rider riding a liter bike.
